Job satisfaction has a big impact on how an employee performs his job. Both elements have an impact on job safety and employee perception of it. A satisfied employee devotes himself to work, performs orders better, cares for others and for himself. He feels safe in the enterprise. The aim of the paper was to assess employees' job satisfaction and their work performance with use of simply survey. In order to achieve this aim, a survey was conducted among employees of a chosen metallurgical enterprise who were asked to assess level of their job satisfaction. The employees defined their job satisfaction by referring to 20 statements describing this satisfaction and evaluating three factors that were used to compute the satisfaction index. The survey allowed for indication the general level of employee satisfaction.

The management of contemporary health systems is a problem of many countries, which consists not only of issues related to the establishment of the roles of institutions involved in their functioning, the allocation of funds, asymmetry of information, or access to health services. Problems of the all system often result from faulty management of particular health institutions, and more specifically from the lack of agreement between the management staff, medical staff and patients.
The proposed study is an attempt to systematize the roles assigned recently to physicians and patients on the one hand, on the other – a presentation of non-standard solutions in this area, which are the existing cooperatives in health care in the world. The issue of jointly implemented by both groups of objectives and adaptation of the idea of cooperatives to the management process was justified by the theory of common pool resources and the game theory.

The article discusses the problem of occupational adaptation, which is a significant motivator for keeping a job. The concern of employers that the subordinates are best suited to the work they perform is important for the efficient and effective operation of the entire organization. When an employee has a sense of adaptation to the tasks and requirements of the work imposed on him, he achieves a positive state of well-being, thus striving to stay in the company for as long as possible. Efforts of the organization to ensure the required quality of work already at the stage of introduction into the organization translate into benefits from the skills and competencies of the new employee. The aim of the article is to present selected issues related to the professional adaptation of newly hired employees in the workplace. In the theoretical part, the essence and scope of professional adaptation of newly hired employees were pointed out and the factors conditioning the achievement of adaptation to the organization were analyzed. The empirical part discusses adaptation tools, which organizations use to provide employees with support in the process of introduction to work. It also examines the level of their effectiveness in adapting to work in selected aspects of the organization’s functioning.

People spend most of their adult lives in the workplace and at work. It is therefore essential to create an environment and working conditions that positively affect their work performance and well-being at work. Ergonomics is the science that studies the relationship between people and the environment that surrounds them on a daily basis. It is not only about achieving optimum work performance, but for companies ergonomics can save costs associated with health problems and physical and psychological illnesses of employees due to poor quality of life in the workplace. Even today, with the implementation of Industry 4.0 and increasing levels of automation and robotization, technological developments are enabling efficient production processes and bringing about changes in human work. With this comes the emergence of new threats to employee well-being and challenging their existing skills and knowledge. It is therefore essential to provide quality workplaces for the workforce that will be work-ing in the changed environment. The aim of this paper is to present how ergonomic rationalisation can be used to influence the quality of life in the workplace so that employees are able to perform optimally at work without negatively impacting on their health.

The article presents a multi-aspect approach to the knowledge management system. Knowledge management focuses on the problem of creating and disposing of intellectual competence resources and practical skills, which are intangible assets of an enterprise. They concern different fields of science and empirical applications, and they are used to achieve a significant competitive advantage. In addition, knowledge management is focused on learning processes and improving the skills of the organization’s employees, systematizing and using knowledge in business practice. Therefore, effective use of knowledge management principles can contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the company’s operations and improving its competitive position.
The aim of this article is to present the concept of knowledge management through a critical analysis of domestic and foreign literature on issues related to knowledge processes, approaches to knowledge management and practices. The featured problem will be presented not only from the theoretical but also the practical side. Based on surveys conducted using the survey method, the most important benefits and barriers associated with introducing the concept of knowledge management or its elements in the enterprise will be identified.

A lot of substances and items are transported by road, sea, rail and air every day. The biggest hazard is created by the transportation of hazardous substances with flammable, caustic or toxic properties. The hazard level increases if such substances are transported through densely populated areas. Traffic intensity, the technical condition of vehicles, drivers’ errors or ignorance and non-compliance with legal regulations are examples of factors that can lead to potential failures in the transport sector. Accidents can cause an uncontrolled release of dangerous gases or liquids, resulting e.g. in environmental degradation or a hazard to humans. The article presents the issues related to the hazards presented by road transportation of hazardous materials. Examples are shown of potential effects of accidents and hazard zones arising due to a release of selected hazardous substances, such as chlorine, ammonia, petrol, diesel oil or LPG.

The fitter generates the most threats during work related to the transfer of elements of a given metal structure as well as assembly and disassembly, and therefore the fitter is the most exposed person to any threats related to the construction of a metal structure.

The Hazards Occurring During the Construction and Reconstruction of Metal Structures

Roller blinds are devices that are retracted and wrapped in a box above the window opening and are used to protect against the solar radiation. Those are the wellknown devices with distinct advantages over the fixed external dimming elements. The influence of external blinds on the internal thermal environment in climatic conditions in the Republic of Serbia, the city of Kragujevac, was considered in this research. An external blind was installed in the test room and its influence on the internal temperature was compared with the internal temperature of the room without the blind. Real-time monitoring was carried out in February and August 2023. The results presented in this paper show that the blind reduces the temperature in summer by 3.57ºC and increases it in winter by 1.76ºC. The cooling load can be reduced by about 20%, and the heat load by about 15%.

In an increasingly volatile environment, the importance of agile management, which should be based on flexible procedures and agile strategy, is increasing. The purpose of the study was to analyze the trend of development, level of knowledge and implications with the application of agile methods, techniques in project, program and manufacturing process management tools, as well as to identify areas of activity of foundry companies in the context of increasing the efficiency of their operations through the use of agile project approach. The completed research indicated that the knowledge and variety of application of agile methods, tools and techniques is at a relatively low level within the framework of project, program and manufacturing process management in the surveyed foundries. Among the most commonly used instrumentation are: PDCA, Kanban, SCRUM, SCRUMBAN, Lean Development, DMAIC and XP. The research showed that the use of agile instrumentation in the areas of projects, programs and manufacturing process management allows work to be done in an orderly and transparent manner. Foundries that consistently use agile instrumentation produce high-quality and non-conformity-free products with short time-to-market. Future research directions will be to perform a comparative analysis of the level of knowledge and implications of agile instrumentation in foundries located in Poland and selected neighboring countries.

In modern society, the use of technology occurs constantly, and it is already impossible to imagine human life without it. The spread and implementation of artificial intelligence in social processes form a specific interaction between this technology and society. Achieving only positive results from using intelligent software and systems requires awareness and responsibility from people when interacting with smart machines. The managerial responsibility of the leader when using artificial intelligence is an important topic of modern management.
The article examines the role of artificial intelligence in the fourth industrial revolution era and considers statistical forecasts regarding its future impact on various spheres of human activity. The author analyzed the features of leadership in modern conditions of technology development and substantiated the specific role of a leader who uses the functions of artificial intelligence in management activities. The author proposed a hierarchical scheme of interaction of the participants of the production process in the organization, which arises when using intelligent systems to achieve the set goals.
The main result of the work is the development of a scheme that reveals the need for the formation of a structure in the interaction of the organizational system with the technological potential of artificial intelligence. Using the proposed scheme by practitioners-managers will make it possible to use the latest technological developments as efficiently and safely as possible.

The Role of Leadership in Industry 4.0

The article analyzes the possibility of using two types of waste from the thermal transformation of municipal waste in the production technology of cement mortars. Fly ash and dust were used in amounts of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30% of the cement mass as a replacement for sand. In total, 11 series of cement mortars were prepared: a standard control mortar and 10 series of mortars modified with individual waste. The following tests were performed for the prepared samples: bending and compressive strength after 7 and 28 days of maturing, water absorption and consistency testing for fresh mortars. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the use of waste dust and fly ash in the amount of 30% as a replacement for sand reduces the compressive strength by 24.0% and 8.0%, respectively, and the bending strength by 23.6% and 21.5%, respectively.

In this article presented results of researching corrosion of steel bars in aggressive environment in time under loading. For researching were used special equipment. The experience and research works shown that steel bars in the crack cross-section area can be corrode. With increasing width of crack in re-bars and power of aggressive of environment increased the level of corrosion and decreased time of progress. The level of danger of corrosion in the crack in depend of specialty of steel bars. It is geometry parameters of steel bars and characteristic of corrosive behaviour. The general tendency of the influence of various defects on the strength of steels is widely studied experimentally and theoretically only for geometrically correct stress concentrators. For damages that are irregular in shape, such as corrosion ulcers, significantly less researching in each case must experiment to find their effect on the mechanical properties of steels. In this work the influence of simultaneous action of the aggressive environment and loading on strength of steel re-bars has been described.

The world is changing really fast. This speed is caused by urbanization, technological development and the increasing demand for energy. Such changes have a direct impact on enterprises which function in the world of VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) with numerous surprises in the form of “black swans”, i.e. rare and unpredictable events. The modern history has not seen such a lockdown as the one caused by the coronavirus. Hairdressers, cosmeticians, restaurants, transportation and tourism are particularly affected by the negative effects of the pandemic. But while some lose, others profit: growth can be observed in the areas of e-commerce, courier shipping and parcel lockers. The article analyzes the labor market in covid times. The image of enterprises and employees of the future was discussed. The paper is an introduction part of an international research conducted as part of cooperation between Universities from Poland, Pakistan, Iraq and the Philippines.

Lean Management is currently one of the best-known and is the most widely used management concepts in production enterprises. Lean creates such a culture of work in an organization that makes all participants in the organization interested in raising the level of quality, reducing costs and delivery time. However, there is no information about the influence of lean tools on the level of safety in production organizations. The paper presents the influence of five lean tools on the safety level by the example of metal manufacturing organization. The number of potentially dangerous situations and the number of accidents were taken as the measure of safety level. The obtained results indicates that the most important for the safety level is 5S, TPM while Kaizen, Poka-Yoka and VSM are smaller. The paper aims to broaden the knowledge about the dependence of the use of lean tools on the level of occupational safety.

The survey was based on prepared questionnaire forms analyzing the quality of the customer service on the basis of three areas. Results of the survey indicate that modern IT tools are very helpful, because they can provide data for analysis of numerous distribution individuals in the context of the quality of customer service in a very fast way.
