<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_333_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c15b1Aa"><h3>Background</h3><p>At Alice Salomon University in Berlin, the project «Healthcare Professionals - Bachelor for Interprofessional Healthcare and Management» aims at developing a joint online, part-time study course for nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_334_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c15b2Aa"><h3>Objectives</h3><p>Based on innovative learning modules, the study course aims at improving inter-professional cooperation in healthcare, thus enhancing the quality of care for patients.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_335_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c15b3Aa"><h3>Questions</h3><p>Do executives and professionals see a need for action with regard to interprofessional healthcare? How can employers support part-time students attending the study course alongside employment? Which requirements should the study course meet in terms of contents and structure to balance studies and employment?</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_336_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c15b4Aa"><h3>Methods</h3><p>Quantitative online survey among executives and professionals using questionnaires. A descriptive approach was employed to evaluate the quantitative data statistically.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_337_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c15b5Aa"><h3>Results</h3><p>The executives› survey confirmed a definite need for enhanced skills acquired through higher education and revealed a strong wish for more interprofessional cooperation than what is commonly practiced in healthcare today. Innovative study formats and cooperation on the part of the employers are necessary to balance work and studies.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_338_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c15b6Aa"><h3>Discussion</h3><p>The challenge now is conceptualizing a study course that promotes the online development of interprofessional and scientific skills, imparts future-oriented and practice-relevant contents and is flexible to accommodate the needs of employed, part-time students.</p></sec></abstract>

<trans-abstract xml:lang="de" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_339_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c16b1Aa"><h3>Hintergrund</h3><p>An der Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin wird im Projekt „Health Care Professionals – Bachelor Interprofessionelle Versorgung und Management“ ein onlinebasierter berufsbegleitender Studiengang entwickelt, in dem beruflich qualifizierte Pflegekräfte, Physio- und Ergotherapeuten/-innen und Logopäden/-innen gemeinsam studieren werden.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_340_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c16b2Aa"><h3>Ziele</h3><p>Durch das innovative Studienangebot soll die interprofessionelle Zusammenarbeit in der Versorgungspraxis und somit die Versorgungsqualität für die Patienten/-innen verbessert werden.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_444_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c16b3Aa"><h3>Fragestellungen</h3><p>Sehen Führungskräfte und Berufstätige Handlungsbedarf in Bezug auf die interprofessionelle Versorgung? Wie können Arbeitgeber berufsbegleitend Studierende unterstützen? Welchen inhaltlichen und strukturellen Anforderungen sollte der Studiengang gerecht werden, damit er für Berufstätige studierbar ist?</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_555_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c16b4Aa"><h3>Methodik</h3><p>Online-Befragung von Führungskräften und beruflich Qualifizierten mittels Fragebögen. Die statistische Auswertung der quantitativen Daten erfolgte deskriptiv. Ergebnisse: Die Führungskräftebefragung bestätigte den hohen Bedarf an Kompetenzerweiterung durch eine hochschulische Qualifikation und zeigte, dass deutlich mehr interprofessionelle Zusammenarbeit gewünscht wird als derzeit in der Gesundheitsversorgung verwirklicht ist. Innovative Studienformate und ein Entgegenkommen der Arbeitgeber sind notwendig, um Beruf und Studium erfolgreich vereinbaren zu können.</p></sec><sec id="j_ijhp-2016-0009_s_666_w2aab3b7c30b1b6b1aab1c16b5Aa"><h3>Diskussion und Schlussfolgerung</h3><p>Die Herausforderung besteht darin, einen Studiengang zu konzipieren, der interprofessionelle und wissenschaftliche Kompetenzen auch onlinegestützt fördert, zukunftsorientierte praxisrelevante Inhalte vermittelt und für Berufstätige studierbar ist.</p></sec></trans-abstract>
