<abstract xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The influence of Tvergaard's parameters <italic>qi</italic> of Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) material model on S235JR steel response was considered in the study. The analysis concerns the strength curves simulated numerically for notched tensile elements under static tension in complex stress state defined by high initial stress triaxiality σ<italic>m</italic>/σ<italic>e</italic> > 1. Typical and material-dependent values of Tvergaard's parameters <italic>qi</italic> were examined. The influence of the Tvergaard's parameters <italic>qi</italic> on material response was noticed at the failure range for S235JR steel in the case of high stress triaxiality.</abstract>
