The Editorial Board of The Polish Cartographical Review accepts only the original materials. The submission of the manuscript implies that the work has not been published before in any language. The subject matter of the materials covers cartography and the related fields, e.g. geoinformatics, remote sensing, geodesy, taking into account the aspects of cartography. The articles can apply to the theory or practice of cartography, database development methodology, topographic and review maps and their use. We are interested in the subjects of contemporary cartography and its history.

Instructions for preparing a manuscript

The article should contain 20,000–40,000 characters, including spaces (footnotes, references, tables, and figures together with the captions are included). The information about the name, surname, and affiliation of the authors should be on the first page of the article. Please be sure to include the e-mail addresses and ORCID numbers of the authors as well. The information about the sources of funds (grant, scholarship, etc.) should be placed at the end of the article in Acknowledgements.

The title of the article

Abstract. [max. 500 words, the abstract must include: purpose, methodology, results, limitations, research/practical implications, originality/value]

References. [in APA 7 format]

Captions for the figures and tables. [All figures and tables should be labelled as Figure 1, Figure 2 (etc.), and tables as Table 1, Table 2 (etc.). All figures and tables must be referred to in the text of the article.]

Endnotes.

Additional information

All files should be sent by e-mail (jrsiwek@uw.edu.pl, kslomska@ihpan.edu.pl, or polishcartographicalreview@gmail.com).

Text and tables should be in .doc format (Microsoft Word for Windows).

The endnotes, numbered tables with their titles as well as the captions under the figures should be taken out of the text and placed at the end of the article separately. Please limit the number and size of the footnotes. The max. format for the illustrations should be 136x195 mm (including the space for the captions). Drawings and photos should be made at the appropriate technical level with homogeneous numbering. It should be possible to read the figures in CorelDRAW or Corel PHOTOPAINT program. Figures that have been scanned must have a resolution of 300–600 dpi. Figures should be sent in .tif, .jpg or .cdr format in separate files (not in the text file). Authors should have copyrights to submitted figures or written permission from the author of the figure.

References should be done in APA 7 style. The list of references should be limited to the works that are cited in the article. References should consist of the complete list of the authors and should be given in alphabetical order, e.g.:

Article Processing Charge (APC)

To publish in “Polish Cartographical Review”, authors are not required to pay an Article Processing Charge.
