The availability of digital infrastructures and the fast-paced development of accompanying revolutionary technologies have triggered an unprecedented reliance on Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques both in theory and practice. Within the AI domain, Machine Learning (ML) techniques stand out as essential facilitator largely enabling machines to possess human-like cognitive and decision making capabilities. This paper provides a focused review of the literature addressing applications of emerging ML tools to solve various Project Scheduling Problems (PSPs). In particular, it employs bibliometric and network analysis tools along with a systematic literature review to analyze a pool of 104 papers published between 1985 and August 2021. The conducted analysis unveiled the top contributing authors, the most influential papers as well as the existing research tendencies and thematic research topics within this field of study. A noticeable growth in the number of relevant studies is seen recently with a steady increase as of the year 2018. Most of the studies adopted Artificial Neural Networks, Bayesian Network and Reinforcement Learning techniques to tackle PSPs under a stochastic environment, where these techniques are frequently hybridized with classical metaheuristics. The majority of works (57%) addressed basic Resource Constrained PSPs and only 15% are devoted to the project portfolio management problem. Furthermore, this study clearly indicates that the application of AI techniques to efficiently handle PSPs is still in its infancy stage bringing out the need for further research in this area. This work also identifies current research gaps and highlights a multitude of promising avenues for future research.

PT. Naruna is a ceramics factory located in Salatiga, Indonesia. In PT. Naruna ceramics, all products are handmade with contemporary designs and have a high artistic value in shape and color. Getting profit is the company’s primary goal, but many companies still need to learn the maximum profit that can be obtained by optimizing their resources, one of which is PT. Naruna. PT. Naruna produces goods based on intuition. As a result, a lot of goods are piled up in warehouses. Meanwhile, with the development of the times, new trends and images will appear more attractive so that consumer tastes and motifs from ceramics will change. In addition, ceramic products that have gone through the combustion process cannot be recycled and must be burned. This research focuses on the production of glasses with three different types according to price. The aim of this paper is to optimize profits by determining the composition of the number of products produced. We used linear programming with a simplex method to solve our problem in PT. Naruna. Linear programming is the most appropriate method for solving problems that exist in PT. Naruna, namely by paying attention to the objective and constraint functions. The objective function is to maximize profit, so it takes the form of a linear equation with the variable X1 being the first type of glass, X2 being the second type of glass, and X3 being the third type of glass. The constraint functions used include the number of products, the number of workers, the amount of clay, and the time for production. The results show that PT. Naruna can achieve maximum profit when producing glass type 1 less than type 3 less than type 2.

Moroccan companies seek to be competitive worldwide by improving quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma are the most popular methodologies for continuous improvement in companies. The objective of this article is to determine the impact of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing on the performance of different companies. The data was collected by a questionnaire sent to the various companies and industries in Morocco. 45 companies responded to this study, divided into several sectors. The criteria of this study are based on two levels: Financial and operational performance. A statistical study is carried out by SPSS software to analyze and interpret the collected results. The results of this study show that companies using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies have a positive financial and operational performance compared to companies that only use Lean Manufacturing or companies that do not use Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing. Therefore, the combination of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing is the ideal and perfect approach for the continuous improvement of different companies.

This review examines the trend of applying theories in LM performance and offers the latest recapitulation of related theories in LM performance. The methodology is based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) to search for multiple scientific information databases and to guarantee that no important study is overlooked. For the single theory, highly employed theories were the Theory of Constraints, Resource-based View/Natural Resource-based View Theory (RBV/NRBV), and Contingency Theory (CT). Meanwhile, several articles employed integrations of several theories in a publication. Concerning the year of publication, significant growth in articles with underpinned theories was published from 2020 onwards. This study offers several significant contributions to researchers to widen the knowledge related to the adaptation of theories in the field of lean performance, as research underpinned by a theory offers a solid and convincing result in investigating the research problems. The first limitation was the search string to identify the related articles, which could be extended to maximize the article search. The other limitation was the database used which was limited to the Scopus database. Despite the importance of underpinning theory in research, OM has been criticized for the inadequacies of its theory, with only one-third of OM research incorporating theory. However, a limited review was conducted on the theories used in LM performance theory. To reduce this gap, this review examines the trend of applying theories in LM performance and offers the latest recapitulation of related theories in LM performance.

Systematic Literature Review: Theory Perspective in Lean Manufacturing Performance

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
The innovative activity of machine-building enterprises is the main guarantee of their sustainable and effective development, which makes it possible to compare technical and technological innovation in the production of products in different periods and between different enterprises in points. Quantitative numerical assessment of the innovative component of the enterprise is a prerequisite for developing a strategy for further effective production management. After all, in addition to financial performance indicators, technical innovations play a decisive role in the modern market environment, although little attention is paid to them. In the work, based on organizational and technical modeling and logical methods of exploratory evaluation, the author’s method of establishing a quantitative comparative level of innovative activity of a machine-building enterprise was built. The developed methodology for evaluating the innovative component of machine-building production is based on three basic criteria: mastering new machines, mastering technological processes, and the effectiveness of implementing design and technological solutions. The first two criteria take into account the nomenclature, novelty, the risk of introducing a new solution and the technical level of products. To determine these criteria, several levels of novelty of machines and technologies are proposed and the author’s understanding of their content is given. The third criterion, the effectiveness of implementation, is evaluated by indicators that take into account the intensity of adjustments at various stages of design. The result of the study is a method of comparative assessment of the level of innovative components of the development of machine-building production with a set of indicators that provide professionals with a tool for monitoring the processes of introducing new equipment and technologies into production and the subsequent formation of an effective innovative strategy for the development of a machine-building enterprise. The capability of the proposed methodology is presented in the given example of evaluating the innovative development (state) of an abstract machine-building enterprise.

This study is conducted to explain entrepreneurial support resources of firms based on social network theory in developing countries, the case of Vietnam. Partial Least Squares Structural Modeling (PLS-SEM) was conducted with a sample size of 220 entrepreneurs in SMEs. The results supported the positive link between formal and informal networks and entrepreneurial firm performance. Second, the study explored the partial mediating role of access to entrepreneurial resources between formal networks, informal networks, and entrepreneurial firm performance. In addition, the results also provide practical value to entrepreneurs in actively building relationship networking in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Finally, the study proposed some implications for entrepreneurs, limitations, and further research.

In the conditions of the transition to higher technological systems in the conditions of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the companies of the world face the question of effective management of green innovative development in their economic activities. The goal of the research is the formation of effective organizational and economic support for green innovations of companies of countries with different levels of technological development of production. This research contains: to describe the known positions of scientific schools regarding the managerial aspects of green innovations of companies of the world; to form the economic support of this administration, by developing an assessment of the potential of green innovations of companies of the world (the data of the Global Innovation Index Report were taken as a source of empirical data), to form criterion values of the potential of green innovations of companies of the countries for the purpose of their clustering. The research methods used include: system method; bibliometric analysis; method of assessing competitiveness; criterion method; method of generalization. The objects of evaluation include companies from five countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The main results of the study include: development of management theory; forming an assessment of the green innovation potential of companies from countries of the world with different levels of technological development of production (the data of the Global Innovation Index Report were taken as a source of empirical data); formation of criterion support for the results of evaluation of the green innovation potential of the countries’ companies. The conclusions of the study should include establishing the actualization of managing green innovations by companies of the world by involving the results of the assessment of the green innovation potential of companies of the world to the formation of the criterion values of this assessment in order to make effective management decisions on the part of all interested stakeholders. For further scientific research, to focus on the formation of effective communication links between different groups of stakeholders, the basis of this scientific direction is the criteria developed by the authors to ensure the level of green innovation potential of companies of countries in order to make effective decisions on the part of stakeholders (state bodies, investors, manufacturers, suppliers, clients, financial institutions) regarding organizational, social, economic support of green innovations of companies of countries with different levels of technological development of production. This study can be useful for the governments of countries in the development of international and national programs for the innovative development of the economy in terms of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals; to company managers when forming strategic and tactical plans for green innovative business development; to students and scientists in the implementation of scientific and educational programs.

Research of Green Innovation of Companies of Countries with Different Levels of Technological Development of Production

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
The re-entrant flow with an unpredictable nature of arrival would apparently harm production plans and schedules in flow type of shops. The re-entrant flow with varied arrival frequencies in rotor blade manufacturing is quite complicated and results in disproportionate workloads. Hence, an attempt has been made to study the significant influence of disproportionate workloads and research on an innovative order release method to enhance performance. The manufacturing process was observed thoroughly to incorporate the uncertain events that cause disturbance in the production. A simulation model was developed on a discrete event simulation platform by analysing problem phenomena right from the conceptualization phase. The model has been verified and validated to ensure the accuracy. The model was subjected to 288 experiments representing different scenarios that a flow shop undergoes in reality. The factors considered in the experimentation were re-entrant frequency, re-entrant proportions, order release methods and priority dispatching rules. A refined load release policy for disproportionate loads has been proposed to judge its effectiveness in terms of profit computation by comparing it with other relevant policies. Results of the experiment revealed that the order release methods contribute 95.93% to throughput performance, in addition, the use of the new re-entrant method policy in the above scenario was productive in improving the overall shop performance.

Investigation of Workload Control Methods for Shops with Re-Entrant Flows

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
This study aims to map out social manufacturing research and the distribution of social manufacturing research, which can be used as a reference for social manufacturing research. Various studies on social manufacturing have been carried out to explore various insights on social manufacturing in different domains. This study was conducted in 2021, and explored the social manufacturing literature using bibliometric analysis methods. The approach used in the bibliometric analysis is the citation analysis to see one article cited by another article, and the co-citation analysis approach to find two or more articles cited by one article. In this study, the data source used is from the Scopus database, with social manufacturing keyword. The results show the types of analysis that have been processed include co-authorship (authors, organizations, countries), citations (authors), and co-citations (sources, cited authors). This research still has limitations, because it use the Scopus database only, so for further research, it could be added with other sources, such as Web of Science, PubMed, Crossref, etc. In addition, there are still many visualization results using VOSviewer software that could be explored further, such as the type of analysis citation-document, citation-organization, bibliographic coupling, which has not been discussed in this study.

Bibliometric Analysis and Systematic Literature Review in Social Manufacturing

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
The Multi-skilled Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (MS-RCPSP) is a complex and multi-faceted problem that involves scheduling activities whilst considering various resource constraints. These constraints include limited availability of workers, equipment, and materials, with each activity requiring a minimal set of skills to be executed. Furthermore, for a better resemblance to reality, workers/machines are assumed to be multi-skilled/multi-purpose posing another dimension of complexity to the problem. The objective is to minimize project duration, cost, or other relevant criteria while accounting for the inherent resources flexibility. This paper provides a systematic review of the literature pertaining to MS-RCPSP, and an in-depth analysis of 171 papers published between 2000 and 2021 inclusive. The conducted bibliometric analysis identifies the top contributing authors, most influential papers, existing research tendencies, and thematic research topics within the field. In addition, this review highlights different aspects of the MS-RCPSP, spanning the significance of performance measures, solution approaches, application areas, and the incorporation of time constraints. While project completion time, cost, and tardiness are common performance indicators, other measures such as multi-skilled staff assignment and schedule robustness are also deemed important. Although various methods have been employed to solve the MS-RCPSP including exact and approximate approaches, the selection of the most-suited approach depends on the problem’s scale, complexity, and constraints, necessitating careful consideration of each method’s strengths and weaknesses. Interestingly, several studies have jointly addressed resource and time constraints in the context of MS-RCPSP, often considering tardiness, and have proposed different algorithms, models, and metaheuristics to tackle these challenges. This paper clearly highlights research gaps and promising avenues for future research. This work provides valuable insights for project managers to effectively schedule tasks in the presence of multiple flexible resources.

The Multi-Skilled Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem: A Systematic Review and an Exploration of Future Landscapes

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The possibilities of using cognitive technologies in the organization of systematic industrial enterprise management are described in the article. Strategic links are defined in the development of a system of stochastic models of enterprise management based on artificial intelligence. The possibility of introduction of the Perceptron model in the industrial enterprise management with the purpose of identification of “bottlenecks” in the functionality of business activity and improvement of procedures of decision-making in the framework of creation of the program of development and technical re-equipment of the enterprise is proven. The authors offered an organizational and economic mechanism of operation of an industrial enterprise, which includes new means of implementation of managerial actions through the use of a matrix of assessment of the level of implementation of cognitive technologies. The method of determining priority directions for the implementation of cognitive technologies at an enterprise was developed based on the results of the assessment of the depth of penetration of cognitive technologies and the result obtained from their implementation, which additionally takes into account the resource ratio of the implemented technologies defined as the ratio of estimates of the actual level of competencies to what is needed to work with new cognitive technologies, which allows to obtain the planned economic and organizational effect.</abstract>

Cognitive Technologies in the Management and Formation of Directions of the Priority Development of Industrial Enterprises

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The article presented the scientific research of buildings construction optimization problems on the basis of interdisciplinary approach that provides synergy of modern approaches of construction organization and technology, economic theory and political economy, as well as applied mathematics. The formation and realization of the economic-mathematical model of optimal sequence groups of construction objects are considered on the basis of a method of sequential analysis of variants, based on dynamic programming. According to the provided research results the proposals were made for acceleration of these processes in construction through the development of program complex “Optimization of object construction process by the criterion of time” on the basis of mathematical modeling methods, which provided the opportunity to further optimize and obtain consistency and reduce the construction terms of this buildings groups for almost a year (360 days or 61%).</abstract>

Cognitive technologies and artificial intelligence dynamize the development of the modern world in various spheres. Modern man is not always aware of how often he uses this type of technology, both in everyday life and at work. The conducted literature research has shown a growing interest in the discussed issues. The diagnostic survey allowed the assessment of the level of familiarity with the terms “cognitive technologies” and “artificial intelligence” in the perception of students, doctoral students and employees of a selected university. The auditorium survey technique was used for the research. The research shows that the distance between humans and an intelligent robot is decreasing. A man is inclined to let intelligent robots enter even the most intimate spheres of his life. The article contributes to filling the gap in knowledge about the perception and application of intelligent technologies and the readiness to use them. Furthermore, it sets out further directions for research on this phenomenon.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The article considers international trends and directions of inclusive growth which is considered as an inclusive economic growth and is measured by heterogeneous growth indicators, as an index of inclusive development. Considering the above, was analysed the existing state of the country’s growth considering the environmental, economic, social and technological components as prerequisites for inclusive environmental management. Thus, the main focus of this article is on the formation of prerequisites for inclusive nature management in socio-economic and environmental practices and their subsequent methodological support. So segments of population prosperity means not just material consumption, but social vision formation and the institutional support creation for enables everyone to participate in the socio-economic achievements. The main gaps in the institutional support of the inclusive environmental management process are disclosed: in the social sphere: limited access to economically viable means that meet the real needs of the population in terms of health care, social assistance, basic education and awareness; in the ecological and economic sphere there is no effective and efficient management of providing the population with products that comply with the requirements of eco-certification and eco-labelling, which negatively affects the replenishment of the state budget and the promotion of the rational use of natural resources. Therefore, in order to create a favourable climate and institutional support of inclusive environmental management, in this article, will conduct a thorough analysis of the status of its components and assess the compliance of the existing conditions with current international requirements for inclusiveness. Inclusive growth requires environmental inclusion, which can be achieved through the introduction of new metrics and resource value indicators in regional development projects and programs. In doing so, measures should be developed and recommendations made to improve further planning and control.</abstract>

Institutional Qualities of Inclusive Environmental Management in Sustainable Economic Development

<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
The aim of this research is to study theoretical and practical aspects of the ecological and economic losses from the use of solid domestic waste (SDW) as energy resources in the heat power industry of Ukraine. The methodical approaches to evaluating the ecological and economic losses caused by solid domestic waste (SDW) comprise: the developed algorithm, which evaluates the ecological and economic losses in the SDW use as fuel and energy resources in comparison with basic and project variant; the investigated morphological composition of SDW in the Ukrainian regions, on the basis of which there is proposed a matrix for further calculations of the ecological and economic loss from atmospheric pollution as a result of the energy-intensive SDW combustion at the power plants by the Ukrainian regions. The efficiency of using SDW as secondary energy resources, which essentially depends on the conventional energy resources combustion, is proved. According to the chemical and morphological composition of SDW, the average amount of harmful substances by their element constituents of SDW is determined. The economic loss from the combusting 1 ton of SDW as energy resources is estimated. Reasonability of using SDW as energy resources, based on the optimal ratio between conventional resources and energy-intensive SDW through minimizing total production costs and possible ecological and economic loss, is grounded. It is proved that while estimating the ecological and economic losses, it is necessary to consider the SDW morphological composition and regional specific features regarding the location of heat and power enterprises and organized storage landfills. It is grounded that the obtained estimates of the ecological and economic losses may be used for identifying the ecological and economic evaluation of the SDW efficiency use in the heat power industry at the regional level.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Over the last few years, the Industry 4.0 concept (called the Fourth Industrial Revolution) has attracted attention among both academics and practitioners. Industry 4.0 is a very broad domain including production processes, efficiency, data management, relationship with consumers, competitiveness, and much more. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to present new factory archetypes. The manuscript uses a synthesis of literature (scientific studies and industrial reports). Based on the results obtained, the archetypes of factories of Industry 4.0 are described. The presented manuscript contributes to the development of literature on the concept of Industry 4.0. The results obtained from the analysis of the literature not only summarize the existing knowledge about Smart Factories, but also indicate the directions of potential research.</abstract>
