<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Nursing theories have been developed to provide guidance in clinical practice, so their knowledge by nurses is mandatory in order to provide advanced nursing care. This paper presents the relationships between the concepts and major assumptions of Henderson’s model and Orem’s theory and then their comparative analysis. Both, Henderson’s model and Orem’s theory of self-care deficit have a major impact, internationally, in education and research, but also in nursing practice, as a result of which their knowledge can open a new perspective on care, especially in countries where they are not well enough known.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Particular onset of Sars-Cov-2 infection, by acute mastoiditis without symptoms specific to the case definition. Mastoiditis is part of inflammatory diseases of the middle ear and is important because of its frequency and life-threatening complications due to the close relationship between the middle ear and the cranial cavity. An acute middle ear inflammation may follow a serious course even if the tympanic membrane does not perforate. In the pathogenesis of acute suppurations of the middle ear, the Eustachian tube plays a major role in the appearance of inflammation and the development of the disease. The most common germ can be - a virus whose initial effect is congestion of mucosa and reduce resistance to biological defence by promoting rapid superinfection with Hemophilus Pneumococcus, Staphylococcus, and others. Sars-Cov-2 infection begins with respiratory phenomena and clinical and biological inflammatory syndrome. This article presents a case of Sars-Cov-2 infection with atypical onset of acute mastoiditis. The clinical importance lies in the fact that the virus can migrate from the nose and nasopharynx through its Eustachian tube into the middle ear and from here to the mastoid. The presence of the virus in the middle ear is almost constant even if the patient is asymptomatic. This requires precautions in all surgical maneuvers at this level in patients with Sars-Cov-2 infection.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Calcium hydroxide is a slow-acting antiseptic substance used in several forms for the last century in various fields of dentistry. Its applications in endodontics are by far the most meaningful including the treatment of root resorptions and perforations, inducing the apexification process, and most importantly as intracanal medicaments representing a crucial step in the nonsurgical management of large periapical lesions. The aim of this article is to conduct a review of the properties, antimicrobial effect, combination with adjuvant substances, biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, and adverse effects of calcium hydroxide-based dressings as an additional manoeuvre in the conservative treatment of chronic apical periodontitis and to draw attention on the importance of this extra step.</abstract>

The Use of Calcium Hydroxide as an Intracanal Medicament in the Treatment of Large Periapical Lesions. A Review

The vascular loop refers to a trajectory abnormality of the antero-inferior cerebellar artery or its branch in the internal auditory canal. The Chavda radiological classification identifies three types of trajectory depending on the depth of penetration of the loop at the level of the internal auditory canal. The article presents the case of a 26-year-old patient admitted to the ENT department for left ear sudden sensorineural hearing loss and dizziness. The 3D Fiesta-C axial sequence MRI shows the presence of the vascular loop inside the internal auditory canal, without exceeding half of it. The hearing loss had an unfavourable evolution, without recovery after treatment with steroids and vasodilators. Sudden sensorineural hearing loss may be a consequence of the presence of the vascular loop in the internal auditory canal. The prognosis for recovery from hearing loss is poor if the loop is at least type II.

Omega 3 fatty acids (n-3PUFA) are essential compounds in humans, their biological role being dependent on food intake, mostly of animal origin. In the newborn, n-3PUFA are involved in the formation of membrane phospholipids in the retina and grey matter influencing vision and neurogenesis. The purpose of this review is to study literature data regarding n-3PUFA intake in vegan pregnant women, with beneficial effects and supplementation possibilities. The conclusions of our study confirm the benefits of the vegan diet in pregnant women, as long as nutritional deficiencies are carefully managed through the administration of appropriate dietary supplements.

This study aims to determine the job satisfaction level of midwives, and the factors that have an effect on those levels. This cross-sectional analytic study was carried out in a total of 21 health institutions including 17 primary health care and 4 secondary health care institutions in a city center. 428 midwives were included in the study. To determine the job satisfaction of midwives, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) was used. According to the scores obtained from MSQ, quartiles in ¼ were created. In statistical analysis, the difference between the mean scores among groups was analysed with independent samples t-test. P values less than 0.05 were considered significant. The results demonstrated that the majority of midwives had a moderate level of job satisfaction.

The quality of life of patients who have suffered cranio-maxillofacial trauma is affected by the occurrence of anxiety and depression, largely because of the aesthetic consequences for patients on their social and professional life.
Aim: This article aims at identifying the occurrence of anxiety or depression in patients who have suffered cranio-maxillofacial traumas, hospitalized in the Sibiu County Emergency Clinical Hospital, in 2020.
Materials and methods: 24 patients answered to a questionnaire that assessed their level of depression and anxiety after having suffered craniomaxillofacial trauma.
Results: These pathologies bring about a strong impact on patients’ quality of life, but a reactively small number of the study patients presented depression symptoms. Anxiety was the dominant symptom in these patients with oro-maxillofacial trauma.

We present the case of a 37-year-old man with anterior chest pain, with coronary character, without known cardiovascular risk factors, and who, following investigations, is directed to emergency angio-coronarography due to acute coronary syndrome. Here, we highlight the characteristic coronary dilations for Kawasaki disease. It is released in very good general condition, with proper treatment.

In this study, we aimed to determine the factors affecting the loneliness levels of university students studying at vocational schools and to determine the relationship between the loneliness and social support. The data of this cross-sectional study were collected from students studying at a vocational school of a university in Turkey. Data were collected with the “Data Registration Form”, “UCLA Loneliness Scale”, and “Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support”. As a result of this study a high level of loneliness was determined. This study revealed that the gender, the place of residence, the status of receiving scholarships/loans and the education level of mothers significantly affected loneliness perception levels of the students. Another result of this study was that there was no significant relationship between the total score and subscale scores of the multidimensional perceived social support scale and perception of loneliness.

He also pointed out the importance of the patient-doctor relationship and underlined the role of affectivity, division and turning away from reality for the psychopathology of patients suffering from schizophrenia. With this he created the cornerstone on which the integrative treatment of schizophrenia rests to this day. The complex integrative course of treatment of patients suffering from paranoid schizophrenia will be showed in a specific forensic context. In forensic treatment, the legal prognosis is of central importance. A reduction in the increased risk of recidivism for criminal offences can only be achieved if the patient’s mental health is improved and stabilized.

Prematurity is a major health problem and it is an important life-threatening pathology for the children in their perinatal, new-born and infantile period. We have evaluated the epidemiologic factors for prematurity in Obstetrics Clinic of Sibiu city. We have analysed the epidemiology of 649 preterm babies between 2012 and 2019 in a III grade Maternity Clinic concerning general maternal information, pregnancy pathology and delivery. We have found significant differences between single and multiple pregnancies and between natural conceived pregnancies and assisted reproductive techniques conceived pregnancies concerning the maternal age, number of cortisone doses, modality of delivery and significant differences between normal conceived and assisted reproductive technique conceived new born related to maternal age and pregnancy and labor fetal presentations dystocia. As a conclusion, prematurity is induced by high blood pressure, pregnancy bleeding and infectious complications. Prophylactic cortisone is improving fetal outcome and is a routine practice in our clinic.

Premature Delivery Under 32 Weeks of Gestation – Case Control Retrospective Study

Crisis situations, which cause disturbances in the daily routine of the individual can contribute to the development of mental problems. On the 26th of February, 2020, the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported in Romania. On the 16th of March, the President of Romania declared The State of Emergency. The following day, by Order of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs medical students starting with the 4th year of study were to be recruited, on a voluntary basis, to support activities in the Emergency Rooms, if needed. Numerous medical students volunteered. The medical students were exposed to online learning and the possibility of being recruited as volunteers in COVID-19 units. In April 2020, we created and distributed an online survey via <ext-link ext-link-type="uri" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="http://www.psysafe.org">www.psysafe.org</ext-link>, which collected data on demographics, personal status of infection, and general mental health, including medication and substance use, sleeping problems in the previous week, perceived stress in the previous month, and burnout in the previous two months. We translated and adapted 2 questionnaires to assess the COVID-19 related anxiety and fear. The participants were Romanian medical students. Data was statistically analysed with SPSS 20. Out of 550 surveys filled, we analysed 545 valid surveys. The mean age of the respondents was 21.66 (±2.55) years, with 81.7% female (445) and 18.3% male (100). 91.6% of the respondents declared that they were never diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder. Coffee was used on a daily basis by 53.8% of the students, with tobacco coming in second in 19.4%. Female students perceived a higher level of stress and showed a higher level of burnout. Female students scored higher for the anxiety and fear related to Covid-19. Medical students with mental health history scored higher on perceived stress, burnout, anxiety and fear related to COVID-19. Perceived stress indicated a level of moderate stress regardless of the mental history status. For all students, the burnout value indicated that some attention was needed, as they might had been candidates to burnout. Moreover, students diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder during the pandemic showed signs that they were on the road to burnout, with changes needed to be done at the time. There were statistically significant positive correlation, of various degrees between perceived stress, burnout, anxiety and fear related to COVID-19, with the strongest one observed for the perceived stress and burnout, in Romanian medical students.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>In the present study, we aimed at evaluating the relationship between the cognitive coping strategies of people with thyroid diseases and the level of stress experienced by them. During the present study we evaluated the coping strategies with Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, and the level of stress experienced by them with Holmes and Rahe stress scale. All patients attended an endocrinology outpatient clinic between may-august 2019. 42 thyroid patients (31 with hypothyroidism and 11 with hyperthyroidism), aged 33-69 were selected for this study. The coping strategies used predominantly by thyroid patients are: rumination, positive reappraisal, catastrophizing. The rumination and the level of stress experienced correlated positively. 295 *, p = .044, statistically significant (p&lt;0.05). 58.13% of patients presented stressful events in the year prior onset of thyroid pathology. This finding is important because restructuring less proactive coping strategies through psychotherapies can be an effective alternative or adjuvant way of treating thyroid diseases.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Selenium (SE) is an essential micronutrient fulfilling a number of biological roles, being integrated as selenocysteine in the primary structure of certain selenoproteins. The Selenocysteine is synthesized and inserted into proteins during the translational process of the RNAm by a mechanism which involves converting a stop codon for certain proteins into a meaningful codon. Only 25 genes encoding selenocysteine-incorporating proteins have been identified in the human genome. The selenoprotein families including glutathione peroxidase, iodothyronine deiodinase and thioredoxin reductases are known as enzymes engaged in redox processes. The selenoprotein P (SEPP1) is a hepatokine produced by the liver, an extracellular glycoprotein, which is not part of these families. The purpose of this Article is to present the form of distribution of selenium and its physiological role in the body.</abstract>

From Selenium to Selenoproteins and their Role - Minireview

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Introduction: Esthetic dentistry aims to create a harmonious smile that is well integrated with the facial architecture of the patient. A good understanding of the patient’s esthetic perception is important when designing a smile.Materials and methods: 106 subjects, 51 patients 54 dental students took part in the study. Each subject was asked to evaluate 10 pictures showing frontal aspect of real cases. They were asked to rate the aesthetics of the clinical cases on a scale from 1 to 5. An open question was associated with each picture, where the subjects were asked to describe what they like and what they do not like about the picture.Results and discussions: The overall mean esthetic rating of dental students was 2,68, while the laypersons’ rating was 2,98. Crowded teeth are more often criticized by patients, while dental students consider that slight crowding give a more natural appearance and individualize the teeth. The presence of diastema is observed by dental students even when it is discrete. The discrepancy between maxillary and mandibular dental midline is more easily observed by dental students. Discolored teeth lead to low aesthetic scores for both groups of subjects. Dental students gave lower esthetic scores to restorations with uniform colour, while laypersons appreciate white restorations. The limited height of papillae is considered unattractive by dental students, while laypersons hardly notice this aspect.Conclusions: This study showed several differences in the aesthetic perception of dental students and laypersons. Students were generally more critical and gave lower scores than laypersons. They also observed and criticized more aspects regarding the smile.</abstract>
