<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p> In this paper, we define and study the property called Sm´ıtal property for the pair (M<italic>, </italic>I), where M denotes a <italic>σ</italic>-algebra of subsets of real line and I <italic>⊂ </italic>M is a <italic>σ</italic>-ideal. It is a generalization of Sm´ıtal lemma. We give some examples of pairs (M<italic>, </italic>I) having Sm´ıtal property and pairs which do not have this property.</p></abstract>
