<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>Fourty seven specimens of <italic>Pelophylax ridibundus</italic> were collected in the vicinity of Shiraz, Fars Province, Iran in 1972. Fourteen helminth species were found, eight digeneans (<italic>Diplodiscus subclavatus, Halipegus alhaussaini, Haematoloechus similis, Codonocephalus urniger,</italic> and four species of metacercariae) and 6 nematodes (<italic>Cosmocerca ornata, Rhabdias bufonis, Abbreviata</italic> sp., <italic>Eustrongylides</italic> sp., Onchocercidae gen. sp. and one species of larval nematodes). Of these, only six are adults, while 8 are in their larval stage. The most prevalent helminths were the metacercariae of <italic>Codonocephalus urniger</italic> (61.7%) and the larvae <italic>Abbreviata</italic> sp. (55.32%). The adults with the highest prevalence are the digenean <italic>Halipegus alhaussaini</italic>, and the nematode <italic>Cosmocerca ornata</italic> (34% in both cases).</p></abstract>
