<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The article investigates methodological approaches towards economic efficiency, which may be applicable in case of biomass production with emphasis on agricultural biomass production – energy crops. The selected methods are: parametric stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) and non-parametric data envelopment analysis (DEA), which are suitable for efficiency measurement in agriculture. The study is organized in four sections. Introduction provides brief report on issues related to biomass production and term efficiency. Both methods (models) are shortly described in the material and methods chapter. In this part, bio-economy efficiency is shortly depicted as a modification of environmental efficiency. The results and discussion part explains limitations of models, inputs and outputs in terms of biomass production. The conclusion sums up the application of models. The results suggest the use of SFA on sector level and the use of DEA on farm level or regions basis.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The role of innovation in the economic growth is becoming a crucial aspect of the future economic development. Building of the innovative-driven economy requires establishment of supportive macroeconomic environment. It involves interplay among three main factors of innovation: education system, entrepreneurship and governmental institutions. Establishment of the integrated national innovation system is a key priority that assures sustainable economic growth. Slovakia is mobilizing its resources in order to shift its economic growth from efficiency-driven to innovation-driven economic growth. The inflow of the foreign investments and attractive entrepreneurial environment are identified as the main resources of economic growth during the observed period. Additional input in accelerating economic growth brought the accession of the country into the EU. On the other hand, R &amp; D activities remain weakly supported by the public and private funding. As the result, productivity of the Slovak innovators remains low as well. Over the last decade, only 70 patents annually were granted to the Slovak innovators. Despite the significant improvement of the innovative environment, there is a low share of enterprises applying innovation in their business activities.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Recently, renewable energy sources (RES) have become very popular all over the EU. Subsidy policies have provided huge amount of money flowing into the sector which were necessary for its development. In Slovakia, favourable legislation was one of triggers for building biogas plants using anaerobic fermentation for biogas and further electric energy production. This paper examines how subsidy policy has stimulated biogas sector over the years and the consequences arising from the legislation.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Within the frame of the North Hungarian region's eco-energy program, we examined the change of residents’ attitudes to alternative energy sources during a multi-stage primary research. The level of familiarity and knowledge of the population, the examination of the source of knowledge and the analysis of renewable energy sources’ judgment were the main areas of the standard interviews. According to our hypothesis, all of the information supply and attitudes related to the subject changed in a positive direction. The use of renewable energy sources is mainly dependent on the consumers’ and residents’ attitude in the given region. Consequently, we consider the knowledge of residents’ attitude particularly important and that the multi-stage research was needed. Primary research was performed in form of standard interviews in households during 2006. Our research in 2009 and 2014 indicated the next phase, where we studied, how the relationship of the parties concerned to renewable energy sources has changed during the past three years.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Product safety and quality are among the key indicators that determine the company's efficiency in modern economics. Changes in state economics and policy such as Russia‘s accession to the WTO and its functioning within the Customs Union force domestic manufacturers to take a fresh look at these issues. Logistic concept of quality and safety involves application of logistic principles and methods for the quality and safety management on one hand, and forming of related organization's system and appropriate control measures for the quality and safety as a control object on the other. Thus, this concept should naturally combine logistics and security. Effective implementation of legal framework on the part of manufacturers and competent authority's control on its observance may provide a stream of safe and quality products coming to mass retailers, which significantly reduces the cases of food poisoning.</abstract>

The Formation Of Product Safety Within Stock Movement

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The goal of this paper is to analyse consumers’ behaviour, their attitudes towards eco-friendly products in conditions of Uzbekistan and identify any optimal solutions based on European experience. In definition of sustainable growth, along with other equally important aims of continuing development one may include the preservation of diverse eco-systems of a country. Giving up the nature for the sake of fast growth might lead to undesirable consequences, very much of it being experienced in wide range of emerging countries. One is government's efforts to encourage the standards with ecologically oriented quality control procedures by providing subsidies. There also might be protective measures limiting the waste produced by enterprises. This approach is called top-down approach. The other way is the bottom-up approach, where impact on consumers is created by state media or planned policy strategy promoting production of eco-friendly products. In my view, this is the long-term and most efficient approach where the desired result is achieved by the demand side.</abstract>
