<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> The article examines the communication nature of ideology, its capacity to serve as a mediator between ideological principles (theory) and political practice. Apart from that, the author shows that the basic paradigms of communication research are ideologically marked and the dominant paradigm is based on the values of liberal democracy, while representatives of the alternative research paradigm mainly attempt at exposing the inadequacy of liberal pluralist ideology.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The article presents the use of social media in the corporate communication processes between the company and the internal and external environment and the role that the relatively new social network LinkedIn plays in this act of communication. Secondary data analysis, with the subject literature and available research as the source of information, allowed to draw conclusions about the growing importance of social media in corporate communication and the significant role that LinkedIn fulfills in the act of communication with the stakeholders. It seems that along with the growth of communication needs, companies are constantly looking for new, integrated channels of communication with stakeholders, and recently their activities have moved to social media, where Facebook is the leader. Other social media, mainly LinkedIn, are overlooked, which may result in less effective corporate communication in social media by the companies.</abstract>

A special emphasis is placed on the ability of ideologemes to adapt the structural units of the myth to their content. <abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>This study investigates how Indian TV serials are affecting Bangladeshi culture through changes in lifestyle, family and intimate relationship, and forms of art and literature. The qualitative research was conducted on 60 respondents from Khulna and Dhaka city of Bangladesh who were selected through purposive sampling method. Findings suggest that Indian TV serials have a significant impact on the day-to-day life of people living in Bangladesh. It influences the lifestyle of people as they spend a considerable time watching these TV serials. Alongside, the indigenous art, literature, language, customs and rituals are being shaped due to heavy dependency on Indian TV serials. Such inclination raises concern for some potential risks including family conflicts, crime, psychological disorder and even suicide.</abstract>

The classical distinction between the natural and the artificial is gradually losing its original sharpness. Biotechnology can be used not only for therapeutic purposes but also to enhance human cognitive, emotional, moral, or physical abilities. This article discusses three of the most important socio-ethical issues related to the impact of neuroenhancement on individuals and on society. It closely examines threats to the principle of autonomy in the case of two selected technologies for neuroenhancement: the Brain – Computer Interface and gene technologies applied to the enhancement of other beings. The article also discusses the influence of social pressure on autonomous decision-making by individuals and whether social pressure is a sufficient reason for not accepting neuroenhancement. Finally, within the context of many concerns about the widening of social inequality as the result of the spread of enhancement practices, this article examines whether such disparities can be avoided and whether the principle of equal opportunities can be regarded as a sufficient criterion of equality.

Language education is directly related to the phenomenon of communication competence. This is important since the knowledge of foreign languages is intended to develop communication activities that are implemented in their nature. Communication competence is, however, a much broader concept, and in the context of language education, it not only refers to recipients (pupils) but also to broadcasters (teachers). This article presents the relationship between teachers’ activity in the field of mass media, their communication competence and social media. The purpose of this study is also to indicate the correlations between the opinions of teachers surveyed and the features of communication competence of students, as well as to assess the level of teachers’ competences. The methods used in this study included a questionnaire and interviews. A set of closed, open and mixed questions, as well as an in-depth interview based on a traditional questionnaire is included. It is difficult to prove the correlation between teachers’ communication and media competences and the effects of their work. Nevertheless, the high self-assessment of teachers’ competences seems to be related to the growing trend of English language skills in Polish society.

The article presents the idea of freedom of communication and science in the context of contemporary trends related to the development of modern information and communication technologies. The research was carried out by means of literature analysis, observation, desk research, and statistical surveys, including estimated data on changes, for example in the labour market. Reference was made to the paradigm shift in the use of information and communication technologies as a result of the pandemic. Attention was also paid to the influence of technology on the sphere of scientific and public information. As a result of the research, changes related to the use of artificial intelligence have been noted, including threats related to the impact of technology on humans and the environment. Another problem is the lack of knowledge about these threats and the uncritical adoption of new technological innovations. Automated decision-making systems do not follow clear rules on accountability for the possible effects of adverse reactions. This exploratory study aims to identify which linguistic and typological features commonly associated with clickbait in online news headlines are indicative of clickbait in YouTube video titles. A comparative corpus analysis is conducted to compare YouTube video titles commonly associated with clickbait to titles not associated with clickbait. Results indicate that a majority of the typological and linguistic features associated with clickbait in online news headlines are found to be indicative of clickbait in YouTube video titles. However, the role which each of the features plays seems to differ to that of online news. The findings contribute to the understanding of clickbait in non-news contexts from a linguistics perspective, an area which has been relatively unexplored in the current literature.

Higher education in specific professional competencies is each time a challenge to combine the expectations and capabilities of universities, the expectations of the labor market and the expectations of students. With regard to the competencies of the future, relevant to the marketing communications sector, the situation becomes further complicated due to the dynamically changing digital media and modes of communication. In Polish conditions, numerous research results are available, indicating the expectations of employers of the marketing communications sector. However, there is a lack of research dedicated to the competence offer of universities in this regard, as well as the expectations and interests of students. This article attempts to fill this gap. It presents the results of a survey of 156 students at Polish higher education institutions regarding the assessment of the presence of future competencies in the study plans of the majors they study and their perceived professional usefulness of these competencies. The results of the survey indicate the existence of a competence gap both between the offer of higher education institutions and the expectations of employers, as well as between the expectations of students and employers. She/he does not attend school or go to work. They do not attend university, they constantly remain at home and most often keep contact with the outside world using new technologies. Hikikomori syndrome is most often recognized as a characteristic problem occurring among Asian societies. Meanwhile, the growing dependence on new technologies among Western societies, and in particular, on the Internet, has caused social withdrawal to become a global problem. Human relationships began to move from the real world to the virtual world, which nowadays is full of communication facilities and allows people to establish relationships with other people without leaving their homes with the help of social media, which are currently packed with advanced solutions connecting people of similar interests or views. All this means that nowadays it is easy to withdraw from physical social life without losing virtual contact with others.</abstract>

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Technological progress in the field of media and communication as well as the dynamics of development of modern communication tools pose a challenge for studying the issue of space in communication and proxemics theory. The mediatisation of almost all aspects of human life is based on increasingly better communication tools that transform time-space relations in communication. Natural forms of interpersonal communication are increasingly being replaced by mediatized communication. Electronic communicators are becoming a kind of laboratory that modifies contexts, channels and codes of communication acts, especially in the proxemics field. Therefore, the purpose of our analyses is to show some aspects of these changes from the perspective of three basic proxemics categories: interpersonal distance, territoriality and space arrangement. In this way, we want to achieve the triple goal of our analysis: cognitive, research and practical. The cognitive goal is an attempt to show changes in the proxemics code in mediatized communication. The research goal is to describe the functioning of this code in electronic communication practice. However, the practical goal of our analyses is to point out the important rules for using proxemics in improving the quality of personality and efficiency of communication.</abstract>

Avoiding or a total lack of contacts with representatives of other cultures brings ignorance of the complexity of the social world and its wealth and can cause a culture shock, as well as the conflict of cultures. However, in order to properly carry out this kind of communication, it is necessary to know the basic building blocks for a particular social group, consisting of: history, oral tradition, language, beliefs and customs. It is also important noticing the differences between cultures. Intercultural dialogue naturally creates difficulties, since they meet in the representatives of different cultures. In the following paper, we shall investigate the presence of the said phenomenon in online headlines. In order to do that we shall perform a corpus-based analysis of the data acquired from the most popular American social news outlets on the Internet, namely Buzzfeed, TMZ and E!Online. Apart from establishing the extent to which clickbait has dominated online headlines, we shall also pinpoint and discuss the specific linguistic techniques used to attract potential readers.</abstract>
