Sciendo archives the contents of this journal in Portico - digital long-term preservation service of scholarly books, journals and collections.
The editorial board is participating in a growing community of Similarity Check System's users in order to ensure that the content published is original and trustworthy. In order to ensure a uniform style throughout the editorial process, the Authors are advised to prepare their paper strictly according to the instructions set below. Because of the formatting errors or due to consistency reasons, the manuscript will not be accepted, both for evaluation and possible further editorial process.
Submission of a manuscript to Materials Science-Poland implies that it is not being considered for the publication elsewhere, and the authors have a necessary authorization to publish the material contained in the paper.
The journal does not have article processing charges (APCs) nor article submission charges.

1. Submission of Manuscripts
To improve and accelerate the processes of review and publication, the journal of Materials Science-Poland has launched the editorial system, available on the webpage:
To submit a new manuscript to our Editorial Office, please use at the first step the window displayed on the left side of your screen ("Create an account") and create your account in the system. Please, remember the password, which will enable you to enter the system and follow the history of you manuscript. At the second step, use the window on the right side of the Home page: "Sign as an Author" and fill in the Manuscript Submission Form.
1.1. First Submission
The Authors have to submit electronic version of their manuscript in a document (allowed types are: DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT) containing the complete paper i.e. all the text, references, figures, tables, pictures, drawings and other graphic elements, as well (ALL IN ONE FILE) through the abovementioned editorial system.
After the paper is accepted for publication, the Authors are supposed to send using the editorial system both a PDF and a DOC (or - possibly - a DOCX and an RTF) documents containing the final version of the COMPLETE manuscript (text, literature, tables, figures, etc.).
The required formats for the graphic files are: - Figures can be delivered as vector or bitmap files. The total width along with a figure description cannot exceed 70 mm (2.76 in.) or 160 mm (6.23 in.) if reproduced in two columns; the resolution must be at least 300 dpi and at least 8-point font size should be used for descriptions. - Photographs will be accepted in TIFF or JPG formats. Their minimum resolution must be 300 dpi at the size appropriate for reproduction, and their widths cannot exceed 70 mm (2.76 in.) or 160 mm (6.23 in.) if reproduced in two columns.
2. Organization of the Manuscript
The paper should be formatted on (preferably) A4 (210 mm × 297 mm) or letter size (8.5 in. × 11 in.) page and typed in a one-column format with one inch (25 mm) margin on the top, bottom, right side, and left side. The Authors should locate the figures/pictures/tables close to the first reference to them in the text and number them consecutively, making no distinction between diagrams and photographs. All pages of the manuscript should be numbered, as well. A figure/picture caption should be placed immediately below the figure. A table caption should be placed immediately above the table. These rules apply both to the PDF and DOC files.
2.1. The First Page
The first page should be organized as follows: Title of the paper John A. White1, T. James Brown2,*, Margaret Green2,** 1Affiliation 1 2Affiliation 2 E-mail (only the corresponding author) Abstract An abstract of no more than 200 words. Keywords 3 to 5 keywords, separated by semicolons (;). --------------------------------------- *(**) Footnote(s)
2.2. Headings, Sub-headings
These should be placed in the body of the paper as appropriate. The Authors are encouraged to conform to the standard sequence of sections (e.g., Introduction; Experimental; Results; Discussion; Conclusions; etc.).
In the manuscript, the references should be numbered consecutively by Arabic numerals in [square brackets] (e.g., ; [3, 4]; [7, 11]). The list of references should follow the text of the paper's body and should have the following format:
For a paper in a journal:  KITAMURA T., YOKOYAMA M., J. Appl. Phys., 69 (1991), 821. For a book:  SWALIN R.A., Thermodynamics of Solids, Wiley, New York, 1962. For a chapter in a book:  WILD U.P., RENN A., Spectral Hole-Burning, in: DRR H., BOUAS-LAURENT H. (Eds.), Photochromism. Molecules and Systems, Elsevier, Amsterdam, 1990, p. 930. Journals' abbreviations should be in accordance with the standards of ISI Journal Title Abbreviations.
All equations should be typewritten. Equations referred to in the text should be numbered consecutively at the right hand margin with Arabic numerals in parentheses.
2.5. Figures and Graphs
All figures and pictures should be numbered with Arabic numerals, have descriptive captions, and be mentioned in the text. Each figure (as well as other graphic elements) should be placed in the body of the paper as appropriate. All figures and pictures submitted, including chemical schemes, must be of a high standard and resolution for direct reproduction. The figures are supposed to be computer-generated prints of high quality. For more details please, refer to the point 1.2. Final Submission above.
The final widths of the tables should not exceed 70 mm (2.76 in.) or 160 mm (6.23 in.) in case of two-columned tables. For more details please, refer to the point 1.2. Final Submission above.
3. Ethical standards
The Journal expects all authors to uphold the highest standards of scientific honesty. In particular, all forms of plagiarism are unacceptable: if necessary the Journal will employ all available legal resources to protect the rights of its authors and defend its academic integrity.
