As information is increasingly gaining prominence in today’s globalised society, statistical methods represent a tool of constant interest and usage. There is a multitude of issues which deserve to be studied theoretically and empirically, which are useful for researchers, managers and policy makers alike.

To gain a more comprehensive and deeper understanding on how statistical methods can be conceptualized and understood, the Journal of Social and Economic Statistics aims to present new research on the theory and practice of statistics.

The goal of JSES is to bring together articles which contribute new research ideas in all areas of statistical science, the latest theoretical and applied research in statistics. JSES calls for contributions on how statistical methods can be conceptualized, developed and applied in social and economic practical settings. We welcome empirical papers, especially papers addressing insights from case study research, which can contribute to advancing our knowledge in this important area.

Theoretical, methodological and/or empirical research papers in any sector of the economy and society, qualitative and quantitative studies, as well as conceptual approaches are invited. Suitable topics include but are not limited to:

  • Theoretical, applied, computational or conceptual papers related to statistics and econometrics
  • Modelling and simulation
