The academic journal Ekonomika (Economics) publishes original research, theoretical articles and economics and business related issues. Major attention is given to the articles, assessing and analyzing the current economy, sectoral situation and development of business strategies for local and foreign markets, which contributes directly to European economic development. In addition, the journal publishes studies which are devoted to the practical regional economic issues relating to integration into the European Union, reviews new books and research projects, other academic topicalities.
Ekonomika has been published since 1960, and was initially issued by Vilnius University. From 2009 the journal has been published in cooperation with Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiyv (Ukraine).
Papers are reviewed by at least two reviewers. The journal is abstracted and indexed in the following databases: ProQuest, Econlit, EBSCO, list B of the Polish Ministry of Science (10 out of 10 points), IBSS (International Bibliography of the Social Sciences), and Google Scholar.
