Ecological Chemistry and Engineering S

The Journal of Society of Ecological Chemistry and Engineering

Primarily we would like to invite you to read the two papers, which were published in 2018 in S1 issue.

The first paper (Ecol Chem Eng S. 2018; 25(1):9-34) was written in honour of the long and wonderful work of Professor Dr. Gerhard ERTL (Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry 2007) on heterogeneous catalysis and was initiated by a presentation made by Him at the 2014 ECOpole conference (held in Jarnołtówek, Poland) with the title “Elementary steps in heterogeneous catalysis: The basis of environmental chemistry”.

The second paper (Ecol Chem Eng S. 2018; 25(1):35-50) is concerned with the performance of planar photovoltaic (PV) module made with spherical PV cells (called SPHELAR® - created and patented by Kyosemi Corporation, Japan and examined at University of Opole, Opole, Poland) in outdoor conditions. On the basis of experimental data simulation was performed in different conditions. Simulation research demonstrated that SPHELAR® cell modules have potential to extend the effective operating time even up to 50% (in summer time) in comparison to the typical flat module.

Printed version ISSN : 1898-6196
Online version ISSN : 2084-4549
The primary version of the journal is the online one.

The quarterly Ecological Chemistry and Engineering S is a multidisciplinary journal devoted to the publishing of original scientific papers, review articles, professional papers, case reports and varia (professional information, book reviews, etc.).
It is pertinent to describe methods determining quality of air, water, soils and food.

Many papers published are on monitoring and biomonitoring of an environment and on transfer of pollutants (eg heavy metals or radionuclides) from soil to plants. Some Authors consider impact of environment pollution on food and human health.
Some papers describe models of pollutant spreading in air or within soil. Others are devoted to various technologies to prevent or minimize industrial pollution, as well as to remediation techniques.
Papers on renewable energy sources are also very welcome.
