<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This study aims to analyze the Romanian critical discourses of the second half of the 19th century and especially of the first half of the 20th century, starting from the central concept of “self-colonization”, coined by Alexander Kiossev. The article opens with the conceptual delimiting of the phenomenon imposed by the Bulgarian theoretician and with the hypothesis that Romanian culture can be attributed to self-colonizing cultures. The demonstration of this hypothesis consists of three arguments. The critical discourses belonging to G. Ibrăileanu, E. Lovinescu and C. Dobrogeanu-Gherea highlight, firstly, some of the characteristics of this self-subordination relation. The way the first two emphasize the role of imitation, the necessity of adopting the foreign models and the way Gherea treats the dependence upon the West under an economic report, represent, briefly, the center of the first part of the demonstration. The second one brings to the fore Mihail Kogălniceanu and Titu Maiorescu’s profiles, their discourses being characterized by clumsiness and flaws so typical for a culture found in an early stage of its development. The last argument broadens the scope of the demonstration in the sense that the analysis focuses on social and economic delimiting. The purpose of this delimiting is to establish which are the areas that are more responsive to the manifestation of the self-colonizing phenomenon.</abstract>

Critica Literară Românească Din Perspectiva Metodelor De Analiză Autocolonială (1840-1939)

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This paper aims to present the connection and continuity between the implicit principles that configure the transgressive visions of Lucian Blaga, Gaston Bachelard and Ștefan Lupașcu, which inaugurate a paradigmatic change in consensus with the revolutionary ideas circulating in science, philosophy, poetry and art across the 20th century. The subtle paradigmatic axis which crosses implicitly or explicitly the work of Lucian Blaga proves to be the transgressive attempt of integration and overcoming of the antinomies under the sign of <bold><italic>the included middle</italic></bold> which underlies the transfiguring core of the <bold><italic>dogmatic paradox</italic></bold>. Thus, the nucleus of Blaga’s epistemological vision, the <bold><italic>dogmatic paradox</italic></bold> – a synthesis of the antinomies solved not in concrete level, but in transcendent one, creating a paradoxical logics – proves to be close to Gaston Bachelard’s transgressive theoretical constructions – <bold><italic>the surrationalism</italic></bold> and <bold><italic>the philosophy of no</italic></bold> –, as well as to Ştefan Lupaşcu’s integrative perspective of <bold><italic>the dynamic logics of the contradictory</italic></bold>. The subtly related nexus of theoretical ideas developed by Blaga, Bachelard and Lupașcu appear to be essential milestones in the avant-garde of the paradigmatic chain of the included middle, opening it towards the present European episteme.</abstract>

Even in the modern writers fiction we will analyse many rural spaces that we could find in some of the novels. Also, in another novels we found out that the rural space plays an important role in the construction of the narrative plot.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The aim of this essay is to offer a gastrocritical analysis of Emil Brumaru's poetry, taking into consideration the symbolism of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, spices and food in general. The four main parts of the essay are based on the sensuality of the fruits, on the memories brought up by food, on dreams stirred up by spices and on the autochtonous place described by the traditional "zacusca". These, all together, will prove the fact that the gastronomical references in Brumaru's poetry are full of connotations and this is what we will try to identify by the interdisciplinar approach.</abstract>

Gastrocriticism: pentru o reinterpretare a poeziei lui Emil Brumaru

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This study is based on a research on literary criticism, with a focus on several aspects of Lucian Blaga’s biography from an ideological perspective, aiming and examining its falsifications before 1989 and its true version after the socialist period. Due to most of the papers published by his daughter, Dorli Blaga (more specific, correspondence, diaries and official documents), we could claim that Blaga represents not only a literary case, but also a political one. To be more precise, the purpose of this article is to reveal some demystifications directly related to his biography, outlining three main periods in what concerns Blaga’s reception: the ’50s, the ’60s and the after ’90s.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This paper aims to reveal Lucian Blaga’s ethical status and literary existence in a tormented period generated by the dawn of the new communist social transformations. The fictional perspective, as reflected in the autobiographical novel <italic>Luntrea lui Caron</italic>, is enriched by the confessions of the contemporaries. The struggle between principles, values and political censorship imposed by the historical context is portrayed thoroughly by the above mentioned sources. The poet is not the defeated intellectual that would be the perfect victim of totalitarianism. He remains a symbol of a consciousness that can not be perverted. Blaga will not betray his philosophical system nor his moral beliefs.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The starting point of my work is represented by three of Lucian Blaga’s plays: <underline>Daria</underline>, <underline>Ivanca</underline> and <underline>Înviere</underline>. We tried to show that the characters of these plays represent pieces of individuality and also these characters will be free from their existential drama only if they will become a mirror for the each other, only if they will be interconnected and if these characters will be able to transfer a part of their identity to another individual.</abstract>

Inocentul Alienat Și DepăȘirea Limitelor (Auto)Impuse

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The following article concentrates on the analysis between the elements that appear in Lucian Blaga’s theatre. In foreground, it is put the relationship between the playwright and the idea of „dramatic myth”. On the other hand, it is described the way in which the tragic dimension affects the characters of each play, their struggle with suffering and the way they look to religion. Also, it is talked about the difference between the terms „drama”and „theatre”and also, „tragedy”and „tragic”. There are brought different opinions of literary critics, such as Eugen Todoran or Constantin Cubleşan, alongside with other references from writers and filosofers – Mircea Eliade, I. Kant etc. At the end of the study, it is talked about the parallel between the ancient theatre of greeks and the modern theatre of nowadays – especially on the fact that Lucian Blaga’s theatre acts better in the contemporary epoch than in the traditional one.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The following paper revolves around the concept of thanatos, whose name comes from the personification of death in the Greek mythology. In other words, the objective of this paper is to analyze the main forms and symbols regarding the theme of death in several poems of Lucian Blaga and Dylan Thomas and try to explain how, despite the fact that they come from different cultural environments and have different sources of inspiration and literary purposes regarding the aim of their works, their poetical works present several resemblances in terms of meaning in relation to the theme of death, as approached in the 20th century modern poetry.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The study looks into the perception of Lucian Blaga’s philosophical theories, in particular those conferred in the volume titled „Spațiul mioritic”. This volume brought about a series of controversial discussions around philosophy, literature and religion that subsequently led to the formation of divergent views around Blaga’s theories.Furthermore, the correlation between his theories and the ballad “Miorița” stands as proof for the national identity together with the literary function of the narrative work. In other words, the study emphasizes the problem of interference within the whole philosophical system, through references to the narrative work “Miorița” together with Blaga’s ethical system.</abstract>

Lucian Blaga – Fatalismul Mioritic. Polemici De Epocă

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The present paper is focused on the metaphor of the disease in Lucian Blaga’s poetical works and aphorisms. The stylistic approach is built on Indrieș’s notion of the semantic field and on Blaga’s cultural definition of the metaphor as a way of compromising for the inability to perceive and describe the outer world. The metaphor of the disease combines the physical and the spiritual and transcends some of Blaga’s fundamental poetical themes such as death, sacredness, creative drive, and love. The paper follows two main coordinates in discussing this metaphor: positive to negative connotations (and what context triggers them) and, respectively, disease as a means of reaching divinity or becoming a sinner.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Lucian Blaga’s writing merges into the boundaries of the European modernism both if we refer to the formal and the theoretical aspects of his work. His poetry shows us the deconstruction of the typical rhymed verse through the use of the white one. But as soon as poetry deconstructs the concepts of rhyme or meter as a necessity to define the formal aspects of writing, there is the resistant concept of rhythm which shows himself a plural concept. The aim of this paper is to investigate rhythm in the poetical creation of Lucian Blaga not as the asset of formal constructions, but as it was proposed by Henri Meschonnic a discursive rhythm which is in a tight relation with the subject of speech.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Secession Influences in Blaga’s Poetry (Influențe Secession în lirica blagiană) – This essay analyses the impact of the years spent in Vienna on the formation of Lucian Blaga, taking into consideration the fact that, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the capital of the Empire was the centre of an impressive art movement called the "Vienna Secession". The aim of this paper is to identify the similarities that can be established between the art of the painter Gustav Klimt, a representative figure for that period and the president of Secession, and the poetry of Blaga. The comparison includes the symbols to be found in the works of the two artists, such as the spring flowers and the serpents, the dominant colours, the type of lines used in the creation of their images and the reaction of people to their modern art.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The aim of this paper is to highlight the vanguardist poetical universe of Ilarie Voronca, focusing on the construction of corporeal representations. The poetics of corporeality is associated with the concept of “crisis”, the latter being reverberated in the vanguard lyrical works as an effect of the historical and social context of the 20th century, which is the First World War. As a result, the consequences of this context bring to the vanguard writers poetical substance, which encapsulates the body and the disease, these two being transposed into several eerie, radical and shocking images in Ilarie Voronca’s poetics. This paper is going to demonstrate the existence of several corporeal representations in Ilarie Voronca’s poems, which are mainly represented by the <bold><italic>vulnerable body</italic></bold>, viewed as a <bold><italic>limit</italic></bold> and as <bold><italic>the diseased/the suffering</italic></bold>, proving that the crisis of corporeality is the effect of the historical conflagration at the beginning of the 20th century.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This paper aims to analyse a part of Paul Celan's poetic discourse and study the way in which its political dimensions arise, with a particular focus on poems dedicated to Osip Mandelştam in the <italic>Nobody's Rose</italic> volume. For this purpose, a disjunction is made and justified between political poetry, or expressive discourse treating the political, and politically possessed poetry, discourse in service of ideology. Of particular interest is the social function assumed by such political poetry, triggered by the spreading of illness within the social corpus towards which the poet acts, in Ion Mureşan's conception, as a timely antibody.</abstract>

Avangarda (Anti)-Umană. Incursiune În Poezia <italic>Politică</italic> A Lui Paul Celan

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The purpose of this paper is to analyse the spectacular features of Gherasim Luca’s poetry. More specifically, the research starts from what generates the spectacular in his poetry: the erotica and the advertising feature of the poems. This study intends to analyse and explain how the eroticism of poetry, by its advertising dimension (meaning that poetry highlights the woman and erotic scenes like an advertising) offers to Gherasim Luca’s poetry the spectacular dimension. The blend of the two areas (erotica and the conative function of language) creates the spectacular, transferring sexuality from intimacy to the public, just as an advertising highlights in public an element of intimacy. The research is based on some senses of eroticism, from the most important theoretical studies, as Georges Batailles, André Breton and Octavio Paz. Also, there are discussed the images of the woman and the sexual deviations in Gherasim Luca’s poems.</abstract>

Gherasim Luca – O Poetică Spectaculară

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Lucian Blaga is popular among the Romanian writers for his beliefs in the power of the unknown and the unsaid-word, for his attention given to the notion of mystery and knowledge.The present paper focuses on two of the main elements that coordinate some of the poet’s lyrical writings: silence and the state of being in a continuous search for the initial harmonious relationship with the Universe by returning to the origins of the world, by regeneration and reconstruction. These ideas are emphasized in the poem titled Autoportret in which the soul of the individual find sit self in the these arch for beauty and nothingness, for the pure word which is able to reinforce the bond between the individual and the totality of the unharmed Universe.Using themes, motifs, symbols, myths, figures of speech and techniques of construction, Lucian Blaga succeeds in creating a representative poem for his last volume entitled Nebănuitele trepte, a poem characterized by expressiveness, depth and a strong wish to find by means of silence what the souls has been looking for since ever – purity, peace and harmony.</abstract>

Apologia Tăcerii Și A Căutării În Poemul Autoportret

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The volume Tatăl meu, Lucian Blaga has a double meaning: first of all, Dorli Blaga intends to shape the writer's portrait and, above all, the man Lucian Blaga himself, for whom the act of creation becomes a refuge. Secondly, it creates an autobiographical work, appealing to her own memories and exposing her own opinion regarding the writers and political unions of the 20th century. This volume clearly shows the daughter's duty to defend her father's name. This essay Tatăl ei, Lucian Blaga. Reconstituiri biografice presents the impediments ecountered by Lucian Blaga in his literary and political career, but also his image in the intimate position as a parent and husband. The sacrifices accomplished on behalf of his family, the fear of having his work plagiarised and the strength to bear the injustices of the Romanian state are just some details from Lucian Blaga's life, presented by his daughter or revealed by the writer himself in his correspondence.</abstract>
