Acta Materialia Transilvanica

Open access

Acta Materiala Transylvanica – Material Sciences Publications – is a journal of the Technical Sciences Department of the Transylvanian Museum Society, publishing scientific papers, issues, reviews and studies in the field of material sciences. Its mission is to provide and disseminate a comprehensive picture focusing on research trends and scientific results in the Carpathian basin. In accordance with the general mission of the Transylvanian Museum Society it aims to support specialized literature in Hungarian. The printed version of the journal is published in Hungarian and is available in the Transylvanian Digital Database ( However, we would like to spread it internationally, therefore the full content of the journal will also be available in English.

The Acta Materialia Transylvanica publishes papers and articles from the field of Science of Materials that, following publishing, are also included in several well-known databases. From the viewpoint of a broad and effective spreading of research results it is important that those are published in papers that are recognized in professional circles, are based on a strong tradition, and are extremely exigent about their quality and scientific value. The articles published here will be available not only for professionals from within the Carpathian basin but, due to the English version, also to those interested in this field from all around the world.

Readers of the Acta Materialia Transylvanica can become familiar with the newest results of research from the Science of Materials. Research in this field has a long history and tradition both in Transylvania and in the world, a fact that is reflected in the scientific value of these papers. Subscriber readers can gain information about the newest developments, scientific results obtained by researchers both local and foreign, they can find out about the newest directions, and the most promising trends within the Science of Materials. They can also stay informed and familiarized by the specific language of the field, a language that is – as this can be expected in the case of a continually developing field of science – becoming more and more rich and precise.
