Numerical Simulation of Flow Field in Air-Jet Loom Main Nozzle

Abstract

To improve airflow injection capacity of the main nozzle and decrease backflow phenomenon, a new main nozzle structure with two throats is designed. Negative pressure value and negative pressure zone length are first proposed evaluating the strength of backflow phenomenon. Commercial computational fluid dynamic (CFD) code “Fluent” is performed to simulate the flow field inside and outside the main nozzle. Exit velocity increases about 10 m/s in new main nozzle. Airflow core length of the new main nozzle is 35% higher than that of commonly used main nozzle. Smaller negative pressure value and shorter negative pressure zone length mean a weaker backflow phenomenon in the new main nozzle. Bigger air drag force indicates stronger weft insertion ability in the new main nozzle.

Two Broadside Ballads About a Family Tragedy in Příbor on the Christmas Eve in 1844

Abstract

On the Christmas Eve of 1844, the master shoemaker Carl Ertel in Přibor murdered his wife and his three children by slitting their throats, after which he attempted suicide in the same way and died of his injuries on 31 December of the same year. This family tragedy is do cumented by records in the death registry of the Přibor parish. One year later, two broadside ballads of the same strophic structure were created and then printed in Vienna and Banska Bystrica. The author of the composition Žalostivý příběh v novou píseň uvedený… [A Pitiful Story Made into a New Song...] sees the cause of Ertel’s criminal behaviour in his destitution and his eviction from the rented flat, and the composition thus exhibits features of a social ballad; according to the author of the composition Pravdivé popsání o velmi strašném příběhu…[A True Account of a Dreadful Story], on the other hand, Carl Ertel murdered his entire family in a fit of alcoholic rage.

Review on the laboratory diagnosis of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection

Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) belongs to the class Mollicutes, which is distinguished by the absence of a cell wall. Among prokaryotes, MP has the smallest cell biology with the minimum volume and the shortest gene fragment and can be replicated autonomously. MP has a tip-like structure that strongly adsorbs host cells, mainly adhering to the lung epithelial cells of the upper respiratory tract. It provides the nutrients needed for survival relying on host cells. The interaction of the host and the pathogen on the surface of the respiratory tract determines

primaries, respectively. 1 Due to its invasive growth with destruction of neighboring anatomical structures, HNC has an adverse effect on important functions, including swallowing, breathing, coughing and speech. Thus, it can profoundly influence quality of life of the patient. Treatment of the tumor may significantly deteriorate these functions. Treatment modalities, including surgery, irradiation and systemic therapy, either alone or combined, can result in tissue defects, excessive scarring, and changed anatomical setting and function of the involved organs. 2 , 3
