1 Introduction Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) is a multipotential nonhaematopoietic progenitor cell that is able to differentiate into various cell lineages. MSC can differentiate into osteoblasts, chondrocytes, myocytes, adipose tissues, endothelial cells, neuron-like cells, cardiomyocytes and hepatocytes. MSCs lack expression of co-stimulatory molecules, are capable of escaping from alloantigen recognition and, hence, have low immunogenicity.
