Abstract

Economic education is crucial in a modern economy where the knowledge makes for one of many resources. However not only the curriculum matters and the passed contents, but also applied teaching methods. The method related to Case Study may provide a good tool for economy and entrepreneurship teaching, as it focuses not only on the problem, but also on a student and takes into account teamwork. This method facilitates the analysis of enterprising attitude and economic practice, whereas shaping the soft competences stimulates knowledge transmission, facilitates knowledge assimilation and may contribute to development of enterprising attitude.

Discussion Based on the segmental analysis of soft tissue (BF, LEAN) in lower limbs, the distribution of BF and LEAN between the take-off and non-take-off limbs appeared balanced. The differences were negligible despite the fact that one of the limbs was used for the take-off and should thus be exposed to a higher load. This lack of a difference may be caused by applying a similar reaction force on the take-off and non-take-off limbs during the take-offs. The differences in limb composition were even lower than in other sports, in which the resulting performance is not

Abstract

Buttermilk is an important by-product of the manufacture of butter. Sweet-cream buttermilk (SCBM) is similar in composition to skim milk, except for its high phospholipid and milk fat globular membrane protein content. The main objective of this investigation was to produce optimum quality cream cheese by replacing whole milk with different proportions of SCBM (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50%). Statistical analysis showed that there were significant differences (p < 0.05) between the chemical and organoleptic properties of the samples. As the percentage of SCBM increased, the chemical composition of total solids, fat, protein, fat in dry matter (FDM) and ash of cheese milk decreased significantly, leading to a softer, moister curd. Samples prepared with more than 25% SCBM were not acceptable to the taste panel. The cream cheeses prepared using 25% and 30% SCBM had the highest yields. Total solids and FDM were strong predictors of cheese yield (r2 ≈ 0.589). The results also showed that the best range for replacement using SCBM is 20–25%.

Abstract

Assisted reproduction is a very dynamic part of reproductive gynaecology with fast changes in therapeutic approaches resulting from intensive research supported by private or public companies. This progress brings also new questions regarding ethical, legal or therapeutic issues. At the 26th Czech-Slovak symposium of assisted reproduction in Brno, several interesting topics of assisted reproduction were presented. During two days, more than 350 specialists discussed current topics related to gynaecology, embryology, andrology, genetics and sexology. From this fruitful discussion we chose the following topics that we consider to be the most important: (1) “Soft” versus “standard” stimulation protocols for IVF (2) Use of exogenous and endogenous progestins in IVF stimulation protocols (3) Cryopreservation and transplantation of ovarian tissue - state of the art and situation in the Czech Republic (4) Selection of spermatozoa with fragmented DNA: practical recommendations (5) Artificial activation of oocytes (8) Access of single and lesbian women to assisted reproduction technologies and possibility of their reproduction in the Czech Republic. Panel conclusions were presented at the end of the conference, which had great attendance, invoked lively commentaries and produced some definitive consensus. Certain issues remained inconclusive and these matters will be the subject of further discussion in future. This is a summary of the most important theses from this field in the Czech Republic in 2017.
