Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS) is usually characterized by a very thin or interrupted pituitary stalk, complicated by an ectopic posterior pituitary and impaired delivery of hormones secreted by the hypothalamus to the pituitary through the pituitary stalk, which results in dysplasia of the anterior pituitary [ 1 ]. PSIS was first described by Fujisawa in 1987 [ 2 ].
