One of a determinant of region management efficiency is sustainable economic development that is based on active attraction of investments and business development in the region. Thus, appeal of the region for investments can used as an indicator of authorities’ efficiency in the region. The article considers possibility of application of independent ratings of regions for an assessment of region management efficiency.

Modern management process may be viewed as one constant series of decision making and creation of conditions for effective decision realization. In the process of organizing it is important to verify the organization effectiveness and implement corrections in order to maintain or increase this effectiveness. For the purpose of situation diagnosis and improvement of organization's results, the three-efficiency-levels approach is used (organization level, process level, workstation level). Degree of decision effectiveness (efficiency) will depend on rationality of the problem solving process. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the primary and supporting goals as well as strategies for their realization and to take care of the quality of organization's internal activities, which includes full readiness for cooperation and flexibility towards changes.

Introduction. When assessing the effectiveness of hospital management through measures of patient satisfaction, it is possible to go beyond the frameworks of the social efficiency assessment, obtaining generalized assessments of an institution. They are based on the answers to the question if patients would be willing to recommend the institution to a member of the family or a friend. Next point is establishing correlation relationships between these assessments and other measures of effectiveness, for example the value of contracts concluded with the National Health Fund (NFZ).
Aim. The aim of the article is to determine the usefulness of the patient satisfaction survey as a method enabling the assessment of the management efficiency of a given medical facility in terms of the selected parameters.
Material and methods. The source of the research material are the reports on the patient satisfaction assessments carried out among the patients of the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Biała Podlaska in the years 2008-2013. It was hypothesized that the higher the value of the contract with the NFZ, the greater patients’ satisfaction expressed in their generalized assessments in the given years and, on the contrary, the more positively assessed by patients hospital, among other things due to the quality of the health services, the higher the value of contracts concluded with the NFZ by the given institution. At the same time, on the basis of the data from 2013, it was decided to check whether the opinions expressed by the patients are characterized by objectivism or whether they may be dependent on the hospital ward where the satisfaction survey was carried out - for this purpose the Chi-square independence test was used. The necessary calculations as the part of the statistical analysis were made using the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Results and discussion. The results of the research are a part of the general trend of patient satisfaction surveys, considered as an important source of information on the level of medical services.
Conclusions. The patient satisfaction survey can be considered as a method which enables the assessment of the management efficiency of a given medical facility in terms of the selected parameters.
The area of quality management is sometimes dedicated to be included in the research into the supply chain in relation to the exploration of problems of the efficiency of the supply chain. In the subject literature, there are numerous indications taking into account complex relations in the supply chain and identifying quality aspects by maximizing the phenomenon of synergy in the supply chain.
In accordance with these implications, an attempt has been made to analyze the area of quality management in the area of the supply chain in the selected company, being the link of the supply chain. The obtained research results have been partially presented in this paper. The objective of the paper is to present the results of the research into selected areas of quality management of the supply chain in the company of the transport-forwarding-logistics industry.
The empirical research was conducted through the survey questionnaire the objective of which was to obtain the opinions on the key aspects of quality management of the supply chain. The recipients of the questionnaire were 263 employees of the international logistic operator with branches, among others, in the Silesian Voivodeship, Poland.
Weaknesses of contemporary management methods in the opinion of managers-practitioners The article analyzes two issues: a short description of the most important (according to the author) 15 contemporary management methods and the presentation of the opinion of the group of 18 top managers of medium and large enterprises from the Lodz region, nominated by local governments for the Lodz Voivodship Economic Award in the year 2017 on “knowledge and practical use of modern management methods”.

In this article, the authors offer a methodology for determining the quality of airline performance by taking into account the level of flight safety on the basis of factor analysis and the results of methodology approbation in the conditions of a functioning airline. The assessment of the level of airline performance quality taking into account the level of flight safety within a certain time span is rather sensitive, informative and reliable. They allow us to detect those changes in industrial and economic conditions and factors that are related to a certain degree of potential deterioration of flight safety. This creates conditions for revealing the tendencies towards the deterioration of flight safety at the stage of their origin, when they have not yet caused deep, irreversible changes in the flight safety of an airline.
Most flight delays in aviation enterprises are related to air traffic management and technical centers. This can happen for various reasons: untimely removal of defects, lack of spare parts, deficiencies in maintenance scheduling, etc. Another reason may be inefficient management in the system of preparing the aircraft for departure. The article suggests a possible option of such an assessment as well as the results obtained from the use of this methodology applied to a specific airline.
The judgement of self-governmental operation and the evaluation of providing public services have been focused on since the democratic transformation. By the 1st of January 2012 (CXCIX/2011. and CLXXXIX/2011. law) amendment of the Hungarian on civil servants, the civil servants work performance evaluation system has been introduced with the consideration of the principles of the civil servants carrier programme. The purposes of this evaluation system are made in order to grow the workers management efficiency in the field of public service, and also to improve their work standards.
(An Empirical Study Based on the Commercial Banking Sector of Pakistan)

This research study aims to investigate the potential inner factors of the lending rate in the commercial banking sector of Pakistan. For this purpose, seven bank-specific explanatory variables (capital adequacy, management efficiency, liquidity, asset quality, investment to asset, loan to asset and deposit to asset ratios) were selected to determine their impact on lending behavior. Panel data techniques were emplyed on secondary data collected from the annual financial reports from a sample of ninteen major commercial banks over a period of 2007 to 2014. For the purpose of analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and panel data techniques for regression analysis such as the fixed effect regression models were considered after conforming to the Hausman specification (1978) test. The findings of this study revealed that only four out of seven explanatory variables (ratio of investment to total assets, deposit to asset, loan to asset and liquidity ratio) have a significant relationship with lending rate. Two of the significant determinants (liquidity ratio and investment to asset ratio) are positively correlated while the remaining two significant explanatory variables (loan to asset ratio and deposit to asset ratio) are found negatively correlated with lending rate. The findings of the study are applicable to the banking sector of Pakistan. The current study ignored the use of macro factors like GDP and inflation, etc. which could be used in future research.
