Analysis of Training Plans in Basketball: Gender and Formation Stage Differences

Introduction The different stages through which athletes evolve during their formation in which they acquire and develop skills are a complex process and have been widely studied from different points of view (i.e., psychologically, socially, and pedagogically), making it a multidisciplinary process ( Cassidy et al., 2004 ; Cushion et al., 2006 ). Elements such as the coach, players, context, and competition are all part of the process and intervene in each of the formative stages of sports development ( Cushion et al., 2006 ). There are several

A conceptual stages-of-growth model for managing a social media business profile

organisation’s structures, processes, leadership, training, and culture are needed to harness the potential of this transformative force’. More importantly, there is no established ‘path of activities’ that guide a company down the path of ‘social readiness’ and there are ‘no widely accepted industry-specific best practices’ ( Aral et al., 2013 : 4). There is a dearth of peer-reviewed research focussing on social media management ( Aral et al., 2013 ). This paper aims to address this lack of research by developing a conceptual stages-of-growth (SoG) model for managing a

Lake water stage dynamics in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District in 1991-2010

Lake water stage dynamics in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District in 1991-2010

In the years 1991-2010 the water stages of 38 lakes in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District were observed. Water stage dynamics of the Łęczna-Włodawa lakes was varied. A multi-annual trend with seasonal water stage variability was clearly observable. Low water stages were observed in the years 1994-1996 and 2004-2005, whereas the highest water stages were reported for 2002 and 2010. The water stages of Lake Piaseczno, the deepest lake, were consistent with solar activity changes. Land improvement works in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District and black coal mining caused further local changes in the directions of flow of surface and underground water, as well as modifying the water stage regime of some of the lakes.

Seasonal structure of water stages on lakes in Northern Poland

Abstract

The paper presents the characteristics of hydrological periods in an average annual cycle in Polish lakes. The types of period and their sequence determine the regime of water stages in lakes. The article applies the unsupervised approach to analysis of water level fluctuation patterns, where the regime is identified by grouping analytical parameters. Hydrological periods were designated by grouping elementary time units of the hydrological year (pentads) based on the similarity of their parameters, namely water level frequency distributions. The analysis covered daily water stages in 33 lakes in Poland from the period from 1984 to 2012. Five types of hydrological period were designated. The studied lakes differ in the number, type and sequence of hydrological periods in an average annual cycle. Most of the lakes (19 lakes) have a 4-period temporal structure of water stages with the course of water stages in a year characteristic of this geographical zone. No spatial patterns occurred in the location of lakes from particular groups. This suggests the dominant role of local factors in determining the seasonality of water stages.

LARVAL STAGES OF PHYLLODISTOMUM SP. (DIGENEA, GORGODERIDAE) FROM THE DUCK MUSSELS ANODONTA ANATINA IN UKRAINE

Abstract

Rhopalocercous cercariae were found in the gonads of duck mussels, Anodonta anatina (Linnaeus, 1758) collected from the Sluch River (Zhytomyr oblast, Ukraine). The morphological features observed led to conclusion that this species belonged to the genus Phyllodistomum Braun, 1899. Obtained results suggested that the second intermediate hosts in the life cycle of this trematode were absent. Free-swimming cercariae were observed encysting in water. This species is similar to Phyllodistomum pseudofolium Nybelin, 1926 by overall body proportions and ratio of suckers: lengths of oral to ventral sucker 1 : 1.1; widths of the same organs 1 : 1.2. To confirm the taxonomic position of the species found and establish a possible relationship between it and P. pseudofolium an experimental infection of fish Carassius carassius (Linnaeus, 1758) as potential definitive host was performed. The infection was not successful. Descriptions and figures of all detected larval stages of Phyllodistomum sp. are provided.

Stages and Areas of the Use of It Tools Supporting the Management of It Projects

Abstract

Conducting informatic projects requires the application of modern solutions that streamline workflow. Current projects are becoming more complicated, during their implementation, large amounts of data and information are generated. In addition, in many external sources we can find data and information of the various forms and levels of detail. To get from this data a valuable knowledge, it is necessary to use new data analysis techniques and new technological solutions. The article sets out to present a dissertation of considerations for IT projects and the steps of IT project were highlighted with areas and IT tools that support their implementation. The aim of this article is to assess the current level of use of IT tools by the companies considered as leaders, at various stages of IT projects implementation. The authors also rated the intensity of IT tools usage in various areas of project execution. The paper includes results of research conducted, and can serve as a guideline for enterprises developing IT tools intended to streamline informatic projects. The contents of the dissertation are based on literature studies and empirical research.
