The involvement of Czechia in the international cooperation in the security research in the years 2010–2015

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to assess the Czech participation in international cooperation in the security research and to identify obstacles which prevent a higher involvement of research teams from the Czech Republic in this cooperation. The methodological approach to the analysis and the used data sources are briefly described in the first part of the paper. In the next part we present the results of the analysis of the participation of entities from the Czech Republic in projects dealing with security issues, which were supported by the 7th Framework Program for Research and Technological Development and Horizon 2020, and by some other programs supporting the international cooperation in R&D. The obtained information is supplemented by results of the questionnaire survey between research organizations active in security research and by the findings of the expert workshop.

Business Models Innovation for Sustainable Urban Mobility in Small and Medium-Sized European Cities

Abstract

Bad air conditions, limitless traffic, overloaded parking spaces are just some of the modern mobility problems that strike cities on a daily basis. The European Commission strives to address these issues by providing measures to improve the urban mobility situation in the small and medium-sized cities. The SUITS project (Supporting Urban Integrated Transport Systems: Transferable Tools for Authorities), which is financed under the umbrella of the HORIZON 2020 programme, aims at increasing the capacity of local authorities in Small and Medium (S-M) cities through the development and implementation of sustainable, integrated and accessible transport strategies and technologies.

This paper aims to analyse and classify the innovative business models in the urban mobility sector that are aimed at increasing the capacity building of S-M cities’ transportation authorities through the implementation of new mobility solutions. It describes the innovative mobility business identifying the most successful models of service and partnerships in the sector.

Operationalising Responsible Research and Innovation – tools for enterprises

the basis of ( Ceicyte, 2019 ). Performed literature review resulted in the conclusion that a large portion of earlier scientific publications about RRI relate more to STI policy actors and public institutions rather than to industry ( Grunwald, 2014 ). This is also reflected in the composition of project consortia that have ran RRI-related activities funded through European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. Clear majority of the consortia members are universities and public funding agencies with for-profit organisations constituting less than 15% of all

Preliminary Sub-Systems Design Integrated in a Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Framework

Abstract

The aircraft design is a complex subject since several and completely different design disciplines are involved in the project. Many efforts are made to harmonize and optimize the design trying to combine all disciplines together at the same level of detail. Within the ongoing AGILE (Horizon 2020) research, an aircraft MDO (Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) process is setting up connecting several design tools and competences together. Each tool covers a different design discipline such as aerodynamics, structure, propulsion and systems. This paper focuses on the integration of the sub-system design discipline with the others in order to obtain a complete and optimized aircraft preliminary design. All design parameters used to integrate the sub-system branch with the others are discussed as for their redefinition within the different detail level of the design.

Cultural Opposition: Concepts and Approaches

Abstract

This article describes the concepts and approaches to Cultural Opposition used by the COURAGE project (funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 programme). It examines how can the legacy of Cultural Opposition be analyzed from the perspective of the cultural heritage and collections and what are the promises of the Cultural Opposition term for the emergence of new possibilities in the historiography of the Communist Era. This article argues that the use of cultural heritage of the socialist Cultural Opposition is strongly linked to the history and trajectory of the Cultural Opposition collections, and that the analysis of the collections story offers a clearer understanding of the post-communist transformation from a different point of view.
