The Fruit Flies (Diptera, Tephritidae) in Tehran Province, with New Records for Iranian Fauna
As the result of studies of the tephritid flies in Tehran Province (Iran) in 2008-2009, 38 species of 22 genera are found to occur in this region; altogether 47 species are listed; of them, 9 species and 2 genera (Chetostoma and Xyphosia) are recorded for the first time for Iranian fauna. In addition, Steptorrhamphus tuberosus is reported as a new host plant for Ensina sonchi.
The soldier flies of the genera Nemotelus Geoffroy, 1762 and Oxycera Meigen, 1803 collected in the Arasbaran forests (northwestern of Iran) during 2009-2012. A total of nine species were collected of which eight species [Nemotelus rudifranci (Berezovsky, Nartshuk. 1993); N. nigrinus Fallen, 1817; N. notatus Zetterstedt, 1842; N. pantherinus (Linnaeus, 1758); Oxycera fallenii Staeger, 1844; O. meigenii Staeger, 1844; O. notata Loew, 1873; O. trilineata (Linnaeus, 1767)] are recorded for the first time from Iran. New Data on the Signal Flies of the Genus Platystoma (Diptera, Platystomatidae) in the Fauna of Iran
As a result of studies of the signal flies in Iran, 5 species of the genus Platystoma Meigen (P. chrysotoxum Hendel, P. dimidiatum Hendel, P. elegans Hendel, P. pubescens Loew and P. rufipes Meigen) are recorded for the first time for Iranian fauna.
New Data on the Subfamily Otitinae (Diptera, Ulidiidae) in the Fauna of Iran
As a result of studies on picture-wing flies of the subfamily Otitinae in 2008-2011, Ceroxys robusta (Loew), C. munda (Loew), Herina rivosecchii Merz, Melieria subapennina (Rondani) and Myennis octopunctata (Coquebert) are recorded for the first time from Iran, and H. rivosecchii is recorded for the first time from Asia.
New Species of the Chalcidoid Wasps of the Families Eurytomidae and Torymidae (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) from Iran
Three new species of the Family Eurytomidae (Eurytoma lactucae Zerova, sp. n.; Bruchophagus trjapitzini Zerova, sp. n.; Nikanoria shohadae Zerova, sp. n.) and two species of Family Torymidae (Glyphomerus flavabdomen Zerova, sp. n.; Cryptopristus salviae Zerova, sp. n.) are described from Iran; ten palearctic species from the same Families are indicated for Iranian fauna for the first time (Eurytoma abdita Zerova, E. calicotomae Zerova, Eurytoma robusta Mayr, Bruchophagus astragali Fedoseeva, Adontomerus impolitus Askew et Nieves, Exopristoides hypecoi Zerova et Stojanova, Exopristus trigonomerus Ruschka, Idiomacromerus papaveris (Förster), Glyphomerus aylax Stojanova, Pseudotorymus militarsis (Boheman).
A Review of Palearctic Species of the Genus Pseuderimerus (Hymenoptera, Torymidae) with a Description of One New Species From Iran
The Genus Pseuderimerus includes 9 species in the World fauna, six of them are Palaearctic. Pseuderimerus irani Zerova et Seryogina, sp. n. is described. A key to all palaearctic species is given. The holotype and paratypes of the new species are deposited in the collection of the Institute of Zoology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv).
The family Aeolothripidae (Thysanoptera, Terebrantia) included seventeen species in four genera from Iran. Here, four species are recorded from Iran for the first time: Aeolothrips albicinctus Haliday, A. cursor Priesner, A. montivagus Priesner and A. gloriosus Bagnall. A checklist of all Iranian species of the family Aeolothripidae, with geographical distributions for each species is provided. New distribution records of eight species in Iran are reported.
A New Species of Chyliza (Diptera, Psilidae) from Iran. Khaghaninia, S., Gharajedaghi, Ya. — Chyliza (Dasyna) qaradaghi from Iran (type locality: Qaradagh Forests (Qala Deresi), East Azerbaijan Province) is described. C. qaradaghi Khaghaninia et Gharajedaghi, sp. n. is similar to Chyliza (Dasyna) extenuata (Rossi, 1790) in having arista thickened in basal third with dense black hairs and lacking anteroventral comb of black spinules on male fore tibia. New species differs from C. extenuata by head yellow, only occiput partly black and hind tibia largely black; C. extenuata has head completely black and hind tibia yellow. Both species differ also by the shape of male genitalia.
A Review of the Genus Cheilosia (Diptera, Syrphidae) from Iran. Khaganinia, S., Kazerani, F. - Based on study of references and specimens collected by the authors in the East Azarbaijan Province during 2010-2012, 14 species of Cheilosia Meigen, 1822 known from Iran are listed. Four of them, Cheilosia mutabilis (Fallién, 1817), C. nigripes (Meigen, 1822), C. variabilis (Panzer, 1798), and C. vulpina (Meigen, 1822) are recorded from Iran for the first time. Diagnostic characters and geographical distribution of the species are provided. An illustrated key to Iranian Cheilosia is given.
