Constantly improving, which is one of the principles of quality management is the base for good understanding, behaviour of individual processes, investigating variability and impact on its the process. The aim of every business is to increase profits. Reducing the cost of tools can also contribute to this. Utilising the DOE method to reduce the durability of removable cutting plate, as describe the article, is one of way, how to apply this method in practice. The DOE method enables find factors that are the most relevant to the production process and determine their best values. Using this method, you can set the selected inputs so that, the process achieves the desired results with maximum stability and resilience. The article contains a brief overview of Minitab software by which the collected process data was analysed. The core of the article describes how to solve the problem using the singular phases of the DMAIC cycle. Each of these phases has its own specific aim, which logically defines what activities each step is aimed at. DMAIC is extended variant of the process improvement model based at the Deming circle PDCA. Six sigma methodology is used as a standard procedure for project planning and realisation. At the end of an article is described that by increase durability of removable cutting plate the problems found in the analysis of the current condition that have been validated by a case study in the company have been eliminated.
The article discusses the problem of occupational adaptation, which is a significant motivator for keeping a job. The concern of employers that the subordinates are best suited to the work they perform is important for the efficient and effective operation of the entire organization. When an employee has a sense of adaptation to the tasks and requirements of the work imposed on him, he achieves a positive state of well-being, thus striving to stay in the company for as long as possible. Efforts of the organization to ensure the required quality of work already at the stage of introduction into the organization translate into benefits from the skills and competencies of the new employee. The aim of the article is to present selected issues related to the professional adaptation of newly hired employees in the workplace. In the theoretical part, the essence and scope of professional adaptation of newly hired employees were pointed out and the factors conditioning the achievement of adaptation to the organization were analyzed. The empirical part discusses adaptation tools, which organizations use to provide employees with support in the process of introduction to work. It also examines the level of their effectiveness in adapting to work in selected aspects of the organization’s functioning.

With progressive globalization, changes in the business environment and growing competition, modern companies have been facing challenges and the need for anticipating changes and new threats in the market. Consequently, enterprises operating in a situation of uncertainty are forced to analyze everything that is happening both outside and inside the organization in detail. Managers should pay attention to the atmosphere in the enterprise, communication, cooperation, motivation, etc. The ability of the organization to utilize and manage human resources rationally in order to improve the effectiveness and quality of work is critical. New challenges in the organization, diversity of activities, implementation of new or appropriate rebuilding of old methods (functions) can be ensured by their audit, especially HR audit, whose task is to examine all issues related to the implementation of the personnel function. The aim of this paper is to discuss an audit of personnel functions conducted in a local government unit and to present guidelines, effects and results aimed at improving work and its quality. The paper has a theoretical and empirical character.
