This article focuses on Eurasianism as an ideological trend with a political appeal beyond the post-Soviet space. It demonstrates that the roles envisioned for the ‘Trojan horses’ of Eurasianism among the far right in Central/Southeast Europe and for Eurasianism’s sympathizers in Western Europe bear a qualitative difference. In the former case, the emphasis is on systemic transformation whereas, in the latter case, on a gradualist strategy.

In this article, we propose a new variable in the formation of individual attitudes towards governmental responsibilities to the unemployed – the perceived magnitude of unemployment. Our choice is based on the argument that people’s reactions are strongly influenced by subjective meanings ascribed to social realities. We apply a multilevel analysis approach and mainly use the European Social Survey (2008). Results show that the perceived magnitude of unemployment positively influences public attitudes towards governmental responsibilities to the unemployed, when corrected for a series of relevant individual and national characteristics. Moreover, of all tested measures of actual unemployment rates, only the long-term unemployment rate has a significant effect on attitudes towards governmental responsibilities to the unemployed. Interestingly, this effect is negative, which raises questions about how the social realities of unemployment translate into perceptions of unemployment.
The game theory was created on the basis of social as well as gambling games, such as chess, poker, baccarat, hex, or one-armed bandit. The aforementioned games lay solid foundations for analogous mathematical models (e.g., hex), artificial intelligence algorithms (hex), theoretical analysis of computational complexity attributable to various numerical problems (baccarat), as well as illustration of several economic dilemmas - particularly in the case where the winner takes everything (e.g., noughts and crosses). A certain gambling games, such as a horse racing, may be successfully applied to verify a wide spectrum of market mechanism, for example, market effectiveness or customer behavior in light of incoming information regarding a specific product. One of a lot applications of the slot machine (one-armed bandit) is asymptotically efficient allocation rule, which was assigned by T.L. Lai and H. Robbins (1985). In the next years, the rule was developed by another and was named a multi-armed. The aim of the paper is to discuss these social games along with their potential mathematical models, which are governed by the rules predominantly applicable to the social and natural sciences.

Mankind has always relied on transportation to move from one place to the other; be it by horse carriage or modernized vehicles. With rising environmental issues such as global warming, the transport industry had to evolve so as to provide greener means of transportation and satisfy demands for eco-friendly technologies. This study has shed light on consumer behaviours towards eco-cars, known as hybrid vehicles. This research was in the context of Mauritius and respondents who already drive a vehicle were targeted so as to prevent lack of information about key questions such as habits on fuel expenses and vehicle features. The survey method used, had 100% response rate and permitted the researcher to get fruitful insights about: the extent of introduction and penetration of hybrid vehicles, the factors influencing the purchase of eco-cars, the perceived benefits of owning a hybrid vehicle and the relationship between age and hybrid vehicles’ characteristics. One revelation of this study is that hybrid vehicles do not have the expected impacts on Mauritian consumers like they have on the international markets; though the younger generation- the leaders of tomorrow- are interested with eco-friendly automobiles.
