-1. The tool wear ratio was expressed in terms of number of different electrodes and work piece materials [ 3 ]. Stainless steel, titanium, magnesium, and brass are used as workpiece materials. Copper, brass, and tungsten carbide are used as electrode materials. The process parameters to achieve good surface finish, better dimensional accuracy, and small spark gap by drilling small hole in tungsten carbide using EDM were analyzed [ 4 ]. Tool PCLNR tool holder and three separate CNMG-PEF 80° diamond finishing TiN coated carbide insert with 0.4 mm nose radius were used in the turning of AISI 4340 steel under flood, near-dry and dry conditions. 3.3 Cutting Fluid Servocut ‘S’ grade oil emulsified with water was used as cutting fluid in both flooded and near-dry machining conditions.
