Validating a destructive measurement system using Gauge R&R — a case study

research study was conducted in a UK-based, global plumbing company, renowned for its bathroom products. The sub-assembly product in focus was an ultrasonically welded part and the key process output variable burst strength, which also served as a key performance indicator. Burst strength of an ultrasonic weld is measured by slowly increasing water pressure through the part until it fractures.
