Cancer and productivity loss in the Irish economy: an employer’s perspective

For example, cancer of the prostate is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in Ireland and the third most common form of cancer-related death ( NCRI, 2013c ). The average age at diagnosis is relatively old (68 years, NCRI, 2013a ) and prognosis is good (5-year survival relative to the general population, 86%, NCRI, 2013c ).
