Neural Networks - A Way to Increase the Fuel Efficiency of Vehicles

Abstract

This paper deals with the possibility of creating a vehicle model using a hierarchy of neural networks. Based on this model, it is possible to build an optimization cycle that looks for parameters which are influencing the driving of vehicles along given path. The given path must include a driving through the town, out of town and along the highway section, so the test track contains the greatest number of driving modes. Data for neural network are obtained from the CAN bus and the GPS sensor. Based on the built model and given route it is looking for such route drive, where it eventually came that the development of fuel consumption is lower than in unoptimized drive.

Analysis of the Effect of the Addendum Modification Coefficient for Contact Surfaces of Spur Gear

Abstract

The spur gear is widely used in many types of machines and appliances that is why the research of the connection analysis of them (Tooth Contact Analysis, TCA) is very important because of the development of these gears. The TCA analysis is a complex task because the mathematical description, the CAD modelling process, the overall designing process, the manufacturing process of the gears and the definition of the mechanical parameters have to be known. After the gear designing process the gear pairs have to be analysed by TCA method to determine the typical dimension of the mechanical parameters in case of given load. Knowing of the result we can reason for the appropriate gear geometry of the given construction and working conditions.
