Addressing the complaint has a positive effect on continuous improvement. Sorption of Methylene Blue by Alternative Adsorbents

Abstract

The presence of dyes in effluents is a major concern due to their adverse effects to many forms of life. Dyes are generally removed by conventional sorbents. This article discusses the use of adsorbents from the waste metal production (low-cost sorbents), red mud (RM) and black nickel mud (BNM), to remove methylene blue solution (MB) under different test conditions, such as time and temperature of sorption and weight of sorbent samples. From the obtained data, we can claim that the highest achieved sorption efficiency was achieved by a RM sorbent at 60 °C after 48 hours of sorption with all three weights of samples (83.01 – 83.72%).

Facade renovation – replacement and restoration of the panels in a monument protected object

Abstract

The article deals with problems of reconstruction of the facade and the associated problem of replacement or repair of the panels. In conventional buildings it is a smooth operation, but it is problematic in monument-protected objects. In the case of a common building, it is possible to choose any modern panels and simply replace them, but for historical objects we have to follow the claims and the rules of monument protection. In practice, it usually means the impossibility of use of modern panels, but at least a combination of old and modern technologies. Another possible solution to the problem is renovation, or repairs to the original state of the existing panels, of course with respect to the functionality of such panels. The implementation of such repairs must always be based on the technical and historical survey of the condition of the object and the repairs must be professionally designed. Subsequently, corrections are made, during which it is necessary to pay particular attention to observance of the technological procedures, rules and instructions particularly in terms of monument protection. However, the functionality of the works or elements made with regard to the quality of the environment within the building is not negligible. A common problem is the lack of control of technical requirements and functional requirements. Underestimation of the problems then leads to difficult repairs. The article points to the mistakes and problems of one such construction project on a historically protected chateau building.

The potential for the use of biomass as an energy source is examined on the basis of calculations of cost analysis, analysis of availability of this energy source and its applicability under SR conditions.

An Nlp-Based Approach for Improving Human-Robot Interaction

Abstract

This study aims to explore the possibility of improving human-robot interaction (HRI) by exploiting natural language resources and using natural language processing (NLP) methods. The theoretical basis of the study rests on the claim that effective and efficient human robot interaction requires linguistic and ontological agreement. A further claim is that the required ontology is implicitly present in the lexical and grammatical structure of natural language. The paper offers some NLP techniques to uncover (fragments of) the ontology hidden in natural language and to generate semantic representations of natural language sentences using that ontology. The paper also presents the implementation details of an NLP module capable of parsing English and Turkish along with an overview of the architecture of a robotic interface that makes use of this module for expressing the spatial motions of objects observed by a robot

Improving Logistics Processes in Industry Using Web Technologies

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to propose the concept of a system that takes advantage of web technologies and integrates them into the management process and management of internal stocks which may relate to external applications and creates the conditions to transform a Computerized Control of Warehouse Stock (CCWS) in the company. The importance of implementing CCWS is in the elimination of the claims caused by the human factor, as well as to allow the processing of information for analytical purposes and their subsequent use to improve internal processes. Using CCWS in the company would also facilitate better use of the potential tools Business Intelligence and Data Mining.

Qualitative analysis of maintenance and services carried out in a repair plant on the example of a multi-purpose aircraft

Abstract

The article presents revealed failures and damages of the multi-task aircraft (ACFT) reported by users to the service organization, aimed at assessing and removing them. In the course of the analysis process, damages and malfunctions were grouped, depending on aviation specialities. A review was conducted that targeted occurring malfunctions and damages in a set of ACFT of the same type, over a twelve-year operational period. In the assessed period, trend lines were determined, showing a drop in the number of accepted claims submitted by ACFT users.

Utilisation of Modeling, Stress Analysis, Kinematics Optimisation, and Hypothetical Estimation of Lifetime in the Design Process of Mobile Working Machines

The contribution deals with several methods used in the construction process such as model creation, verification of technical parameters of the machine, and life estimation of the selected modules. Determination of life cycle for mobile working machines, and their carrying modules respectively by investigation and subsequent processing of results gained by service measurements. Machine life claimed by a producer is only relative, because life of these machines depends not only on the way of work on that particular machine but also the state of material which is manipulated by the machine and in great extent the operator, their observance of security regulations, and prescribed working conditions.

The Art Of Interpretation – Chances And Risks On Interpretation In The Field Of Mobile Testing

Abstract

Carrying out a usability test is a demanding process per se. Mobile tests raise this claim because they are subject to real usage conditions and therefore unforeseeable factors. On the one hand there are the technical factors like tools, software and laboratory equipment, but on the other hand there are the human beeings with their knowledge and decision-making. They are taking the selection of tools, methods and data, and they decide in every situation of the process of testing. Using a mobile eye-tracking test, the authors will explain where the sources for interpretation are and when misinterpretation become an error. Technology philosophical considerations on interpretation and hermeneutics have to support the recognition of the potential of interpretation. As a result, misinterpretation can be minimized.
