High doses of medical waste evidence that health waste management is problematic. A case study was conducted at various health institutions. This research analyzes various issues in the area of medical waste management. The research examines the perception of staff regarding medical waste management. The purpose of the study is to investigate the level of knowledge, attitudes and role of health practitioners in the management of medical waste.
Here the quality index and the environmental index of two health centers are studied; one is a private hospital and the other one a state hospital and compares these two indices with a questionnaire.
To provide environmentally friendly services, customers and environmental criteria have to be taken into account in the decision-making process and distributing the Green Quality Function provides a very useful way to achieve this goal.

To improve the reputation and customer loyalty, a benchmarking analysis is being carried out, which influences the perception of the service quality for banks. With the expansion of competitive interactions, the results can serve as a strategic tool to gain competitive advantage and customer satisfaction. Banks reveal the expectations and expectations of customers regarding the quality of selected services. The process creates and expands its reputation and builds customer loyalty. This research aims to compare the perception of the quality of four leading banks with logical comparisons.
Paper present impact of human resources issues as well as issues related to provision of medical services on leadership styles in hospitals in Poland. In this study a descriptive research design was used and a quantitative research was conducted, which was based on the so-called BOST methodology. Surveys were conducted among department heads of 10 public hospitals of various referral systems from the Upper-Silesian Agglomeration providing various types of medical services (which shows a large variety of research sample) operating in Poland. The research showed that both improtance of service provision as well as human resources were not as important as they should be.
Everyone, every day or almost every day, uses various type of services, without being even aware of it. They could have been both intangible and material services. Customers want to receive services of the highest quality, and service providers are looking for solutions to meet their requirements. They can analyze the quality of their services to indicate the strengths and weaknesses of these services to know what needs to be improved and what can be omitted. In the literature on the quality engineering, many methods that can be used in such a situation are described. In most cases, these methods are based on the differences between customers’ expectations for the service and the perception of the service which they received. In case of most of these method, there is a need of information from customers about research service, which means that they are involved in this process. In the paper five methods of quality service analysis, which are the most often used by service enterprises, were briefly characterizes to help readers to choose the most accurate one for them.
In this paper TPM and PAMCO coefficients were shortly characterised. On the basis of TPM coefficients its effectiveness was estimated. Thanks to using time and PAMCO coefficients, the utilization of working time machines was researched. Moreover, there a correlation between TPM coefficient and the quality level was examined. A histogram was drawn up in order to illustrate the distribution. The obtained results allowed to evaluate the effectiveness of the machine. The period of research embraced fifty-two weeks (1 year) and the object of the analysis is the injection moulding machine.
Presented paper concentrate on problems connected with FMEA method usage in industrial enterprise. There is in the paper a description of the basic rules of FMEA method and competition between FMEA analysis and gap analysis. The analysis of defects has been done to find recommendations how to eliminate or restrain them. On the basis of conducted research we found that selection of staff to the team is very important factor in the FMEA analysis undertaking process. The staff should have appropriate level of knowledge about FMEA method methodology and other tools which are indispensable in the process of implementing this method within the company.
The popularity of visual management in the lean concept is caused by the possibility to apply it in solving different kind of issues related to reduce waste or process planning. The adaptations of VSM is focused on stream flow, identifying waiting and productive times in accordance to material and information flow. In this paper five basic areas of value stream flow management have been presented and characterized. Discussion under the 5 areas on the VSM process included identifying the dominant stream in the area and the range of factors affecting the flow of the stream. Based on an observation of processes in the manufacturing industry and a literature review, the graphic model of mutual cooperation between value stream areas (1-5) has been presented.
The research of railway track surfaces is aimed at improving the quality of railway infrastructure and providing the chance of improving the safety of driving. Therefore, it is advisable to constantly monitor track surface, but the research itself is not innovative because it is based on a known procedure. The crucial element are the techniques that allow to delve into the sources of problems. The aim of the article is to use the selected instruments of quality management to analyze the causes of track twist at high (180 km/h) speed of driving. The analysis of the causes of track twist was done on the basis of results from the measurement of one kilometer track section of the Krakow Glowny - Medyka route, which was made by using the TEC measuring device in April 2018. It was inferred that it is impossible to reach 180 km/h without track twist. In order to identify the causes of track twist it was proposed to use the selected sequence of quality management instruments, i.e.: brainstorming, Ishikawa diagram and the 5Why method. The identified causes of track twist include the abrasion of rail, scratches and exploitation point. The analysis and conclusions drawn from it may be useful in the analysis of other problems in railway transport as well as production and service industries.
A photocode in Polish is a common name for a two-dimensional code, which is characterized by higher information capacity than a traditional barcode. The paper analyses the use of the two-dimensional coding system - DataMatrix to identify and classify the material stream in the production process. The analysis showed the effectiveness of the implementation of the coding system in the context of increased availability, machine use and increased product quality. The improvement in the production process is confirmed by an increase in the OEE index. As part of further improvement measures, the coding system should be implemented throughout the enterprise, its compatibility with existing systems should be ensured and applied to all products.
The study presents the results of analysis of the possibilities of measuring equipment supervision, taking into account the requirements of the ISO 9001: 2015 standard and risk management present there. As it has been shown, it is possible to use (mentioned in point 6.1 of indicated standard) a risk management method for skilfully managing a measuring equipment. Orientation of business to risk is one of the elements of the ISO 9001 standard, which does not specify exactly how the method of its implementation should looks like. Generally, it orders to manage risk wherever goals appear. The targets also appear in the field of supervision of measuring equipment. Therefore, in the elaboration, apart from the requirements analysis, the concept of a five-stage methodology for implementing a risk-based approach to management of measurement equipment was presented. The matrix method was used to assess the risk. Within this method two elements were assessed: probability and potential effects of the risk occurrence. Application of the proposed concept may contribute to a more efficient and effective management of measuring instruments.
