Digitizing Dunhuang Cultural Heritage: A User Evaluation of Mogao Cave Panorama Digital Library

art ( Lu & Pan, 2011 ). Aiming for preserving and promoting the precious Dunhuang heritage using digital tools, the Digital Dunhuang project has been undertaken by Dunhuang Research Academy with the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation ( Wang et al., 2015 ; Zhou, 2011 ). The Mogao Cave Panorama DL is one of the first end-user facing products in the Digital Dunhuang project that makes digital images of Dunhuang heritage accessible online. It is thus critical to understand how it serves the end-users and how it can be further improved from the users

Mining Related Articles for Automatic Journal Cataloging

Collection The articles published from August 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012 were obtained from PubMed. These 917,844 articles belong to 4,841 unique journals. From this set of data, we first picked 740,870 articles belonging to 3,265 journals which published more than 50 papers in this time period. We then retrieved the related articles of these articles through E-utilities, which are a set of programming tools that provide a stable interface into the Entrez query and database system at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) ( NCBI, 2010 ). For each of the

Provenance Description of Metadata Vocabularies for the Long-term Maintenance of Metadata

the relationship between taxa are preserved as events along with aspects of time, provenance, causes, and effects. A tool supporting version management of RDF vocabularies named SemVersion has been developed ( Kendall et al., 2008 ). SemVersion provides structural and semantic versioning for RDF models and RDF-based ontology language like RDFS ( Völkel & Groza, 2006 ). Changeset vocabulary defines a set of terms (e.g. Addition, ChangeReason, and Removal) to describe changes between two versions of a resource description by using two sets of triples, i.e. additions

A Study of Methods to Identify Industry-University-Research Institution Cooperation Partners based on Innovation Chain Theory

( Barber, 2007 ). 4 Empirical analysis 4.1 Data sources and analysis tools The gene engineered vaccine (GEV), also known as the “genetically engineered vaccine,” is the vaccine produced by recombinant DNA cloning; it is the expression of the protective antigen gene, or produced by the expressed antigen products, or the recombinant itself (Tang et al., 2006). As the vaccine industry is related to strategic security, it has received extensive attention in many countries. Further, the GEV is a typical high technology with an intact knowledge innovation chain

The Flemish Performance-based Research Funding System: A Unique Variant of the Norwegian Model

tool (e.g. Luwel, Noyons, & Moed, 1999 ; Moed et al., 1998 ; Van Den Berghe et al., 1998 ) including in the humanities ( Billiet et al., 2004 ; Moed, Luwel, & Nederhof, 2002 ) and in law ( Luwel et al., 1999 ). Recently Verleysen and Rousseau (2017) have also discussed to what extent the bibliometric parameters of the BOF-key can help evaluators to act according to the principles of the Leiden Manifesto. They conclude that, although further improvements are possible, the changes that have been made over the last decade have resulted in ever greater compliance

Evolution of the Socio-cognitive Structure of Knowledge Management (1986–2015): An Author Co-citation Analysis

here are very consistent with historical and empirical findings that have been found in earlier literature. Methodologically speaking, bibliometrics offers techniques and tools that can enrich the empirical evidence from new data, variables and indicators. In that sense, we motivate the academic community to develop future research in order to enrich KM’s body of knowledge. Acknowledgements We acknowledge the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University for providing data access to conduct this research, and especially to Rodrigo

The F-measure for Research Priority

as follows: In 2008 the Flemish government provided the legal framework for the construction of the Flemish Academic Bibliographic Database for the Social Sciences and Humanities (“Vlaams Academisch Bibliografisch Bestand voor de Sociale en Humane Wetenschappen” or “VABB-SHW” in short). This database provided the Flemish government with a useful tool to fine-tune the distribution of research funding over universities in Flanders. As a consequence it became possible for researchers to analyze changing publication patterns in the larger Flemish peer reviewed

Big Metadata, Smart Metadata, and Metadata Capital: Toward Greater Synergy Between Data Science and Metadata

the phrase “smart metadata” to identify research directions and new tools supporting better use of digital media and the larger IoT. Contractor et al. (2015) refer to smart metadata in their analysis of the Learning Content Hub, a content management system supporting automatic metadata assignment, and the use of analytics to build customized educational applications. Similarly, researchers identify smart metadata as part of their design for a personalized, recommendation engine for TV programs ( Thyagaraju & Kulkarni, 2011 ). In all these cases, metadata is smart

Sentiment Analysis of Japanese Tourism Online Reviews

help potential visitors better understand tourist attractions so that they can choose their favorite scenic spots and avoid and reduce trouble throughout the tour. For the reasons mentioned above, there is a need to study Japanese reviews of Chinese attractions to improve the service of tourist attractions. In the scientific communities worldwide, a growing number of studies have focused on sentiment analysis of online reviews. There is a great need for new tools and algorithms which can automatically, efficiently and robustly process the large amounts of user
