Using the Communication Methods, Tools and Support During Management of Project Communication in Industrial Manufacturing Enterprises

Abstract

Effective communication is the most significant ability for project manager and successful project. However, during the management of projects communication, it is very often forgotten, often overlooked or taken for granted. In the management of projects, it is principally necessary to deal with communication during all project lifecycle. Within the project communication, it is very important to define the main methods, tools, support of communication and frequency of communication; these belong to the most important elements of the communication channel which is very often forgotten. Therefore, the main aim of the paper is to analyse the utilisation of the communication channel: communication methods, communication tools, communication frequency and to support project communication in industrial manufacturing enterprises in Slovakia. Based on the research, we can conclude that communication channel is not adequately elaborated in international methodologies and standards of project management as well as in industrial manufacturing enterprises. These facts are very negative, conclusion and it is therefore necessary to deal with the problem.

Facilitating Learning Using Modern E-Learning Tools In Technical Drawing And Infographics Teaching

Abstract

Licence and Master’s Degree Programs generally use specific e-learning methods as a complementary training. The design of master’s degree academic curricula in e-learning system will involve the curricular development, the designing of the learning resources. The local Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu was making progresses during the last years and with the help of learning technology as well as the development and simulation of the instructive-educational web-based process solutions, the school will be offering a lot of facilities for the management and presentation of various types of educational content, such as multimedia interactive materials, simulations, and tests, covering a wide range of subjects. The present paper will propose a Technical Drawing and Infographics course and lesson after making out a case for using offline and online e-learning tools.

Modern Learning and Training Tools which can be Properly Adapted and Designed to Reinforce Specialized Courses on Effective Crisis Management

Abstract

This paper highlights the effectiveness of several modern training tools that could be applied within the context of training organizations, aiming towards the introduction of theoretical and practical fields, like the assessment of critical risks, the impact of time pressure and the importance of situational awareness, into the contents of a training course. The first part deals with present training tendencies and tools like distance and technology-based learning, while it is highlighted that knowledge management has gone through a deep and wide re-orientation. Quality assurance issues regarding education are also of great significance. The second part then studies the psychology of serving in combat or irregular crisis situations. It is about the particularities that compose the military, business or civil protection reality, resulting in new approaches of training courses that pursue excellent performance, particularly in dynamic and changing with high-velocity environments. Concepts like shared-ness of information, maturity in leadership decision making and cognitive task analysis can all determine a new domain of acceptable measures for crisis management training at professional level. The scope ranges from a routine organizational context to rapid response in a larger-scale emergency under pressure, requiring respective training adjustments.

In the article were described issues associated with the use by scientific institutions content marketing strategy tools. This article shows the extent to which tools of modern marketing are used in the Internet communication by scientific institutions. Currently content marketing concept is accepted not only as a fashionable trend of modern marketing but above all, it is treated as an important tool to improve enough Internet message, to effectively interest to the users. A optimal selection and use content marketing tools it provides opportunities for enhancing efficiency in the reception (acceptance) of the generated message.

Public Relations — The Tools for Unilateral Communication and Dialogue on the Internet

Abstract

The development of technology and IT tools have brought about an extraordinary acceleration of the public relations branch around the whole world. We live in the times of revolution in communication, in which one year is whole eternity. Messages, the speed of their publication, the tools are changing. The sender and the recipient, who have become used to the dynamics of the message and the fact that it is and will be distributed without spatial and temporal limitations, are changing too. Netscape browser, wp.pl, the era of Wikipedia, Facebook, dynamically developing YouTube, or Nasza Klasa, Twitter and a whole range of other tools from the scope of social media, as well as monitoring systems1 - these are just chosen stages, or as others think, milestones in the pursuit of novelty and new forms of distribution of information. It is in times like these that public relations experts have to create, send and receive messages. Back at the end of 1990’s hardly anyone expected that such changes could take place. It is also hard to predict what we will see in a few, or a dozen years. One thing is certain, namely, that changes will be taking place and will be even faster than now.

As the currently modern media already have a significant impact on voting decisions, or social transformation, the process is analysed and studied in detail. Moreover, what is subject to research is the question whether communication on the Internet should be based on mass communication, or rather on an individual approach. Private individuals make decisions based on their own needs, but companies have to analyse many factors that influence final decisions concerning the choice of tools, or the very decision concerning communication. Among these factors there are: scope, availability of tools, even the branch in which a company is active.

This article includes a presentation of chosen tools used in the process of unilateral communication with the environment, but also tools used for dialogue. Unilateral communication discussed in this article doesn’t assume a response from the recipient, apart from a possible decision to take action in form of purchase, or clicking. At the same time dialogue gives the opportunity to interact, exchange thoughts and ideas, direct assessment. Moreover, the benefits from the process of conducting dialogue online, as well as the barriers hampering the dialogue will be presented. Also, the directions of changes taking place in association with the dynamic development of online communication tools and processes will be presented.

Preference Pattern for Mobile Phone and Conventional Tools in Task Performance by Students of Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria

Abstract

Mobile phones have become very popular among people in different countries of the world and apart from the traditional role of making and receiving of calls; they have been adopted for several other uses. Its use for those activities tends to pose challenge to the conventional media tools that are used traditionally to perform those activities. The study thus aims at determining the pattern of mobile phone usage by students of Delta State University, Abraka; their preference pattern for mobile telephone and conventional media tools in carrying out certain activities; and the implication of their use of mobile telephone on conventional media toolsThe study adopted the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which explains how a person comes to accept and use an information technology. Survey and questionnaire were used as the research method and instrument respectively. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The study found that the students preferred using mobile phones to perform tasks that were originally performed with conventional media tools; and the use of mobile phone by the students also suggested a diminishing patronage of conventional media tools. The study recommends that providers of those conventional media tools should improve on their services to avoid losing patronage, and they should make their products and services adaptable to mobile phone users in order to boost patronage.

Design and Development of a Self-Assessment Tool and Investigating its Effectiveness for E-Learning

Abstract

One of the most effective tools in e-learning is the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) and research has shown that students need to accurately assess their own performance thus improving their learning. The study involved the design and development of a self-assessment tool based on the Revised Blooms taxonomy Framework. As a second step in investigating the effectiveness of the SAT, 1st year student of the BSC Educational Technology program from the VCILT, University of Mauritius were used as testing sample. At this stage the SAT was provided to only half of the sample who were randomly chosen and placed into a treatment group. The remaining half (Control Group) had the normal conditions on the E-learning platform. A semester exam was devised and administered to the whole sample to find out if there was a difference between the scores of both groups. Lastly a feedback form was given to only the treatment group to find out their views on the SAT. The results indicated a significant difference in scores between the treatment and the control groups when the Student’s Independent T-test was used. Group A percentage of passes were higher compared to Group B. Failures were recorded for both groups with an increased rate of failure for Group B compared to Group A. Moreover, most of the respondents’ feedbacks suggested that SAT was a useful guide with helpful feedbacks. The findings concluded that SAT was viewed more as a revision tool that allowed them to assess their own learning.
