This species has also been isolated from the small intestine of Strigiformes and Accipitriformes from North America and Europe ( Read, 1949 ; Borgsteede et al ., 2003 ). Another species of Baruscapillaria recorded in Chile is B. obsignata , which has been diagnosed in the intestine of Galliformes and Columbiformes ( San Martín-Órdenes, 2011 ). The latter has a direct life cycle ( Yabsley, 2008 ), thus it is probable that the life cycle of B. falconis is direct as B. obsignata . Family Habronematidae
