Genetic Markers Associated with Power Athlete Status

polymorphic variants A1298C (rs1801131 A/C) of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase ( MTHFR ; location: 1p36.3), A2756G (rs1805087 A/G) of methionine synthase ( MTR ; location: 1q43), A66G (rs1801394 A/G) of methionine synthase reductase ( MTRR ; location: 5p15.31) genes were determined in athletes and control subjects. Urinary Steroid Profile in Ironman Triathletes

The experiment was performed during the European Ironman Championship held in Frankfurt (Germany) in 2012. All participants completed the Ironman race with times ranging from 09:08:15 (hh:mm:ss) to 11:40:10.
