An existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence on the data result for a source term identification problem in a semilinear functional delay differential equation in a general Banach space is established. As additional condition, it is assumed that the mean of the solution, with respect to a non-atomic Borel measure, is a preassigned element in the domain of the linear part of the right-hand side of the equation. Two applications to source identification, one in a parabolic functional delay equation and another one in a hyperbolic delay equation, are also discussed.

Problems of welding in shipbuilding - an analytic-numerical assessment of the thermal cycle in HAZ with three dimensional heat source models in agreement with modelling rules
This part is continuation of PART II. Analytic solutions for the temperature distribution in HAZ - presented in the previous part of this article are transformed for computer calculation with used Mathcad programme. There are established algorithms in moving and stationary systems for thermal cycle calculating. Finally, a few analytical examples with use of C-I-N and D-E models are demonstrated.

Use of asymmetrical currents waveforms to detect and localize open switch faults for two level voltage source inverter three-phase shunt active power filter
This paper proposes an open switch faults detection and localization algorithm for shunt three phase active filter topology. It mainly details converter configuration and examines a simple and reliable optimized fault diagnosis method. The converter topology is based on classical three-leg active power filter topology. New fault diagnosis method is proposed, based on classical currents measurements. It includes combinatory logic to analyze and validate error signals. Hysteresis control is applied before and after fault detection, which avoids any controller reconfiguration. Simulation results obtained with Matlab/Simulink/Plecs tools prove the effectiveness of this method.

The mechanical model and the accompanied computational technique, based on the boundary integral equation method (BIEM) and Green’s function for continuously inhomogeneous half-plane were described in the first part of this work. 2D elastodynamic problem for quadratically inhomogeneous and heterogeneous geological area was defined in the first part of our work. The aim of the current second part is to demon-trate the accuracy and the convergence of the proposed computational tool. Furthermore, subsequent extensive parametric study will illustrate, that the seismic wave field is a complex result of mutual play of different key factors as free-surface relief, wave characteristics, as frequency and wavelength, seismic source properties, type and characteristics of the material gradient, existence of different type of heterogeneities and their interactions.

In the present study, a new hull panel generation algorithm, namely panel cutting method, was developed to predict flow phenomena around a ship using the Rankine source potential based panel method, where the iterative method was used to satisfy the nonlinear free surface condition and the trim and sinkage of the ship was taken into account. Numerical computations were performed to investigate the validity of the proposed hull panel generation algorithm for Series 60 (CB=0.60) hull and KRISO container ship (KCS), a container ship designed by Maritime and Ocean Engineering Research Institute (MOERI). The computational results were validated by comparing with the existing experimental data.
