Model-based Estimation for Pose, Velocity of Projectile from Stereo Linear Array Image

The pose (position and attitude) and velocity of in-flight projectiles have major influence on the performance and accuracy. A cost-effective method for measuring the gun-boosted projectiles is proposed. The method adopts only one linear array image collected by the stereo vision system combining a digital line-scan camera and a mirror near the muzzle. From the projectile's stereo image, the motion parameters (pose and velocity) are acquired by using a model-based optimization algorithm. The algorithm achieves optimal estimation of the parameters by matching the stereo projection of the projectile and that of the same size 3D model. The speed and the AOA (angle of attack) could also be determined subsequently. Experiments are made to test the proposed method.

Micropropagation of Rosa rugosa Through Axillary Shoot Proliferation

A successful in vitro propagation system has been developed for the valuable ornamental and medicinal plant rugosa rose (Rosa rugosa Thunb.) by in vitro culture of nodal segments from mature plants. MS media supplemented with BA 2.2 μM, NAA 0.054 μM, GA3 2.0 μM and 3% sucrose significantly improved bud break and growth directly from nodal segment explants. High proliferation and average height of shoots were achieved using MS media supplemented with 3% sucrose or glucose adjusted for each cultivar. All the cultivars studied proliferated on MS medium supplemented with BA (2.2 μM), NAA (0.054 μM) and GA3 (0.4 μM). Rooting of shoots was achieved on half-strength MS medium with IBA (2.5-5.0 μM) combined with glucose or sucrose depending on the cultivar. Plantlets were successfully transferred to pots for acclimatization after they had grown more than 3 roots and average root length exceeded 10 mm.

In this paper, a foot-mounted pedestrian navigation system using MEMS inertial sensors is implemented, where the zero-velocity detection is abstracted into a hidden Markov model with 4 states and 15 observations. Moreover, an observations extraction algorithm has been developed to extract observations from sensor outputs; sample sets are used to train and optimize the model parameters by the Baum-Welch algorithm. Finally, a navigation system is developed, and the performance of the pedestrian navigation system is evaluated using indoor and outdoor field tests, and the results show that position error is less than 3% of total distance travelled.

To reveal the biology of AML, we compared gene-expression profiles between normal hematopoietic cells from 38 healthy donors and leukemic blasts (LBs) from 26 AML patients. We defined the comparison of LB and unselected BM as experiment 1, LB and CD34+ isolated from BM as experiment 2, LB and unselected PB as experiment 3, and LB and CD34+ isolated from PB as experiment 4. Then, protein–protein interaction network of DEGs was constructed to identify critical genes. Regulatory impact factors were used to identify critical transcription factors from the differential co-expression network constructed via reanalyzing the microarray profile from the perspective of differential co-expression. Gene ontology enrichment was performed to extract biological meaning. The comparison among the number of DEGs obtained in four experiments showed that cells did not tend to differentiation and CD34+ was more similar to cancer stem cells. Based on the results of protein–protein interaction network, CREBBP, F2RL1, MCM2, and TP53 were respectively the key genes in experiments 1, 2, 3, and 4. From gene ontology analysis, we found that immune response was the most common one in four stages. Our results might provide a platform for determining the pathology and therapy of AML.

Objective To construct prokaryotic expression vector of CFP-10 gene, and obtain recombinant protein, and the recombinant CFP-10 protein was taken as stimulus to detect specific T cell responses, to set up a method to faciliate to detect potential TB infection in China.

Methods CFP-10 was cloned into inducible prokaryotic expression vector pET-32a (+) and transfected into E. coli BL21 (DE3). After IPTG induction, the product were verified with sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and Western blot hybridization were carried out to verify the antigenicity; the recombinant CFP-10 protein was taken as stimulus to detect specific T cell responses in HIV (+) persons with or without clinical manifestation of TB diseases, and HIV (-) controls with or without TB diseases.

Results The CFP-10 recombinant protein exsited in the form of inclusion body and accounted for 94% in total bacterial protein of E. coli and the molecular weight is 31 kD; Western blot confirmed the recombinant proteins had high antigenicity; our in-house ELISpot-IFN-γ assay with recombinant antigen derived from CFP-10 proteins showed significant higher frequencies in TB patients with or without HIV infection than that in the healthy controls and only HIV (+) group.

Conclusions The recombinant CFP-10 genes can be expressed successfully in prokaryotic expression system of E. coli and recombinant proteins with high antigenicity were obtained, which will set foundation for further study on their immunogenicity and bioinformatics. Our results proved that it is indeed true that some HIV positive patient have high frequencies of TB specific T cell responses, which maybe a clue to find latent TB infection in this population.

Objective: To observe the effects of electro-acupuncture (EA) on GRP78 and Caspase-12 gene expression in rats with ischemia- reperfusion injury (IRI) by stimulation on Nei Guan (PC6) and Bai Hui (GV20) points, so that to understand whether or not the protective effects of acupuncture is related to endocytoplasmic reticulum (ER) stressapoptosis passage.

Methods: 50 rats were randomly assigned to five groups (10 in each group): normal control(A), pseudo-operation(B), operation(C), Edaravone(D) and EA(E). The ischemia/reperfusion model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was established by suture embolic method. TUNEL staining method was employed to measure the apoptosis index of nerve cells in rats. Real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was employed to measure the mRNA expression of GRP78 and Caspase-12.

Results: Compared with normal group and pseudo-operation group, the apoptosis indexes and mRNA expression of GRP78 and Caspase-12 in operation group, Edaravone group and EA group were increased, with statistical significance(P<0.05 or P<0.01); compared with operation group, the apoptosis indexes and Caspase-12 mRNA expression in Edaravone group and EA group were decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01), but GRP78 mRNA expression were increased(P<0.01); there were no significant difference between Edaravone group and EA group on the above indexes(P>0.05).

Conclusion: Acupuncture on Nei Guan and Bai Hui points could effectively suppress the nerve cell apoptosis in cerebral ischemia. The underlying mechanism might be related to upregulation of the ERS-protective GRP78 expression and downregulation of apoptosis-promotion Caspase-12 expression.
