Abstract

The article deals with the cutting tool wear measurement process and tool life of ball nose end mill depending on upward ramping and downward ramping. The aim was to determine and compare the wear (tool life) of ball nose end mill for different types of copy milling operations, as well as to specify particular steps of the measurement process. In addition, we examined and observed cutter contact areas of ball nose end mill with machined material. For tool life test, DMG DMU 85 monoBLOCK 5-axis CNC milling machine was used. In the experiment, cutting speed, feed rate, axial depth of cut and radial depth of cut were not changed. The cutting tool wear was measured on Zoller Genius 3s universal measuring machine. The results show different tool life of ball nose end mills depending on the copy milling strategy.

Abstract

This article is devoted to the comparison of the influence of the piezoelectric matrix properties on the magnitude of the resulting charge when a thin piezoelectric membrane of circular cross section, made from aluminium gallium nitride (Al-GaN), is loaded. The size of change of the electric charge was determined by the numerical analysis and the by the change of the properties of the piezoelectric matrix. The matrix constants were obtained from various sources introduced in world databases.

Abstract

The opening and evolution of the Western Carpathians Miocene basins was closely related to the north-eastward tectonic extrusion of the ALCAPA Mega-Unit lithosphere caused by the final stage of collision of the Eastern Alpine–Western Carpathian orogenic system with the European Platform and Alpine convergence with the Adria plate. The roll back effect of the oceanic or thinned continental crust of the Magura–Krosno realms, subduction below the front of the Carpathians in the north-east, east and relative plate velocities led to gradual stretching of the overriding micro-plates (defined as the ALCAPA and Tisza Dacia Mega-Unit). Diverse movement trajectories of the ALCAPA crustal wedge individual segments (Eastern Alps, Western Carpathians, and Northern Pannonian domain) were accompanied by several counter-clockwise rotational phases. Beside the interpreted Early Miocene “en-block” counter-clockwise rotation, most of the rotations in the Central Western Carpathians were caused by “domino-effect tectonics” inside strike-slip zones and took part in the basin opening, which was in most cases followed by rapid subsidence.
