Classification of the underwater diving equipment

In this paper was presented, innovative in preparation of the diving apparatuses classification method, depend on three criteria: the kind of the breathing gas, the operational depth range of the diving apparatus, and the principle of operation. The breathing gas used is the most important criterion. The other basic classification criteria follow from the first one; therefore it should be treated as the one criterion. Such approach to the problem has never been presented before, however it seems to be correct method of the diving apparatuses division.

Abstract

Decision-making in problem situations is based on up-to-date and reliable information. A great deal of information is subject to rapid changes, hence it may be outdated or manipulated and enforce erroneous decisions. It is crucial to have the possibility to assess the obtained information. In order to ensure its reliability it is best to obtain it with an own measurement process. In such a case, conducting assessment of measurement system reliability seems to be crucial. The article describes general approach to assessing reliability of measurement systems.

Abstract

The article provides the results of 31 experimental dives carried out within the depth range of H ∈ [60; 80] mH2O. A combined mathematical model for ventilation and decompression was proposed with the possibility of an emergency omission of the last station at 3 mH2O and decompression completion at 6 mH2O in the event of a deterioration in weather conditions.

Removal of oxidable contaminations contained in submarine atmosphere

To remove flammable contaminations from submarine atmosphere, devices for their oxidation and chemical absorption of products resulting from the chemical reaction, can be applied. In this paper a catalytic system designed for hydrogen and carbon monoxide oxidation and its tests are presented.

Abstract

Recently, the Polish Navy has extended its capability for the implementation of underwater works with autonomous dives conducted beyond the saturation zone to a depth of 80 mH2O. In the near future it is also planned to introduce long-term dives within typical depths of the saturation plateau.

One of the activities resulting from the analysis of the risk associated with the extension of these competences is the need to conduct a critical review of the system for securing hyperbaric treatment of cases of decompression sickness1.
