This article deals with the use of a multi-function system for complete machining. It compares the use of conventional tools with multi-function system on the basis of main indicators of the quality of machining.

The article deals with determination of the fundamental characteristics of machining new technology for the production of biomaterials implants turning, using a removable cutting plates of cemented carbide surface modified coating TiAlN. Experimental determination of the size of components includes cutting forces in turning process, depending on the cutting parameters and cutting material used and monitor the formation and shaping chips.

This paper concentrates on wear mechanisms, tool life and surface quality of different tool grades used to machine steel for roll bearings production. Presented tool system is used for roughing ope-ration in order to increase productivity by substi-tuting ordinary used ISO inserts. All experiments were carried out at University of Zilina.

This article deals with the machining of cast iron. In industrial practice, Austempered Ductile Iron began to be used relatively recently. ADI is ductile iron that has gone through austempering to get improved properties, among which we can include strength, wear resistance or noise damping. This specific material is defined also by other properties, such as high elasticity, ductility and endurance against tenigue, which are the properties, that considerably make the tooling characteristic worse.

In this article, unconventional kinematics of turning is examined with the aim on influence of cutting parameters on surface layers residual stress. The auto-rotary cutting tool prototype for turning was developed, designed and constructed at the University of Zilina. The tool is made of high speed steel. Residual stress examination of material 100Cr6 was performed by non-destructive measuring method of X-ray diffraction. This method is able to determine normal and shear stress conditions without damaging the examined sample.

Paper deals with forces´ ratios which are originated in milling process and applications where high-feed milling cutters are used for machining of steel by HPM technology. Particular elements of total cutting force F were written in the form of records by using three-element piezoelectric scanner of Kistler dynamometer. Comparison of static and dynamic loads during milling and application of tool movement orientation is considered as a result of experiments.
