This article presents the challenges that scientific research institutions face in terms of their marketing, which have been divided into two groups of those associated with internal marketing and those linked to external marketing. The most significant and important determinants that constitute challenges to both internal and external marketing were described. The key aspects of each of the identified challenges were indicated, as was their impact on the implementation of the marketing policy at institutions.
In the article the internal and external determinant factors which influence research and scientific institutions’ choice of business orientation are presented. Typical business orientations fit for application in such institutions for the purpose of carrying out market tasks are presented. Against their background the tasks of marketing in such institutions are outlined and the currently available set of marketing instruments at their disposal is discussed.
The development of information and communication technologies, including in particular the modern development of mobile technologies, has an undeniable impact on people’s lives and, consequently, on consumers’ market behaviour. The growing popularity and capabilities of mobile devices, as well as the increasing availability of mobile Internet access, mean that in many markets companies are redefining their business models, in which the activities conducted via the Internet play an increasingly important role. This is particularly visible on the market of individual and public transport services, where thanks to mobile devices, as well as in consistency with trends in consumer market behaviours and the development of cities in accordance with the smart city concept, for several years now we can observe the emergence of innovative alternatives to traditional forms of transport. The pace of appearance of product innovations on the market depends, of course, to a large extent on the level of acceptance of innovation by consumers. The aim of the article is to determine the degree of innovativeness of the inhabitants of the Poznań agglomeration in the use of transport solutions available in Poznań. The research part presents the results of own research conducted in 2019 on a sample of 795 respondents. They showed that the inhabitants of the Poznań agglomeration are not afraid to use product innovations on the market of transport services and use them to a greater extent than in the case of the general population.
The article presents forms of cooperation and social benefits resulting from cooperation between universities and business practice. Basic kinds and directions of mutual relations arising from common areas of interest, possibilities, needs and conditions for the functioning of each side, have been presented. Solutions carried out by universities with the participation of business practice have been discussed. In case of business practice, potential areas of cooperation with schools and joint ventures in the area of R&D have been discussed.
The article presents issues associated with forming the relations of a scientific-research institution with the stakeholders and creating the added value of these relations. The basic groups of stakeholders and forms of cooperation with a scientific-research institution and their practical solutions are presented. The discussion concerning these issues is illustrated with the example of a training project carried out with funds from the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR).
Requirements for university graduates defined by employers in times of dynamic changes and challenges of the market, the need to adapt the knowledge, skills and competences of students and graduates to the needs of companies constitute new challenges for universities in the area of cooperation with business. The student is becoming more and more often the beneficiary of internship projects financed from various sources, not just with companies’ own funds, but also supported with funds from the European Union. The article presents the perspective of the student as a direct beneficiary of internship projects carried out by universities and employers and attempts to create a recommendation for entities carrying out internship projects aimed at achieving high levels of satisfaction among all project participants.
