Abstract

Oral lesions are highly correlated with the occurrence and development of many diseases. In addition, the treatment of systemic diseases may aggravate oral focal infections, affect the life quality of patients, interfere with the treatment of systemic diseases, and even cause systemic infection in serious cases. Treatment strategies for systemic diseases may induce or aggravate oral local lesion infections. In specific, administration of oral antiepileptic drugs and immunosuppressive drugs may induce gingivitis, radiotherapy or chemotherapy for malignant tumors may cause oral mucositis, long-term use of bisphosphonates for inhibition of tumor bone metastasis or prevention of osteoporosis may cause osteonecrosis of the jaw, and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation may cause oral rejection reactions.

Abstract

The first confirmed records of Agrostis scabra Willd. are reported from a northeastern Chinese province, Jilin. This extends the native range of the species into China. The recent Flora of China does not include A. scabra. The detailed morphological characters, diagnostic comparisons and habitat are presented, along with a distribution map of A. scabra in East and Northeast Asia.

Abstract

Calamagrostis abnormis, a Sino-Himalayan species, is reported with new distribution records in southern Sichuan and southeastern Xizang, China. The species was previously recorded to be distributed in Yunnan and western Guizhou in China, Nepal, Bhutan, India, and Northwest Vietnam. The general distribution map of C. abnormis is presented.

Abstract

In this research Ag2Mn8O16 nanocrystals/TiO2 nanotubes, photoelectrodes were successfully prepared through anodization and annihilation steps, followed by electrodeposition of MnO2 and Ag in a three electrodes cell. The obtained photoelectrodes were dried, then annealed for crystallization, the morphology and structure of the fabricated electrodes were characterized via scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The light absorption and harvesting properties were investigated through UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectrum (DRS), photocatalytic performances were evaluated by degradation of 50 mL of Rhodamine B (5 mg L−1) under Xenon light irradiation for 2 h. Results illustrated that the fabricated photoelectrodes show remarkable photo-degradation properties of organic pollutants in aqueous mediums.

Abstract

Yb3+/Er3+/GZO ceramics have been synthesized with high temperature solid-state method. The phase and structure of the Yb3+/Er3+/GZO ceramics were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The XRD pattern that following ions Yb3+, Er3+ and Ga3+ were well doped into the ZnO lattice. Effi cient visible up-conversion (UC) red and green emission were observed under 980 nm excitation. The mechanism of the UC luminescence is investigated on the basis of the UC luminescence emission spectra, the power curve and energy level diagram. The infl uence of doping ions to the intensity ratio of red to green is analyzed and high purity of red light (red/green = 29.9) is fi nally obtained.

Abstract

The normal modes cannot be extracted even in the Pekeris waveguide when the source-receiver distance is very close. This paper introduces a normal mode extraction method based on a dedispersion transform (DDT) to solve this problem. The method presented here takes advantage of DDT, which is based on the waveguide invariant such that the dispersion associated with all of the normal modes is removed at the same time. After performing DDT on a signal received in the Pekeris waveguide, the waveform of resulting normal modes is very close to the source signal, each with different position and amplitude. Each normal mode can be extracted by determining its position and amplitude parameters by applying particle swarm optimization (PSO). The waveform of the extracted normal mode is simply the waveform of the source signal; the real waveform of the received normal mode can then be recovered by applying dispersion compensation to the source signal. The method presented needs only one receiver and is verified with experimental data

Abstract

New taxonomic and distributional data are provided for three eastern Asian species of Calamagrostis (Poaceae, Agrostidinae) in Vietnam: C. abnormis (Hook. f.) Shukla, C. extremiorientalis (Tzvel.) Prob. and C. tripilifera Hook. f. The new national record of C. extremiorientalis is reported here for Vietnam, where it was previously misidentified as C. elatior (Griseb.) A. Camus or Deyeuxia petelotii Hitchc. (= C. abnormis). The presence of C. tripilifera and C. abnormis in Vietnam is confirmed. Additional new provincial records of C. extremiorientalis from Japan’s Bonin Islands (also known as the Ogasawara Islands) and C. tripilifera from Daba Mountains in the northern Chongqing Municipality (Central China) are reported here. A key for identification of Calamagrostis species in Vietnam, nomenclatural data and information about geographical, altitudinal and habitat distributions are provided. Maps showing their complete distribution in eastern Asia are presented.

Abstract

Ship Information Systems (SISs) have been one of the main research focuses in ship design and become a multidisciplinary area. With these growing research trends, it is important to consolidate the latest knowledge and information to keep up with the research needs. In this paper, the SIS and its different forms are introduced and discussed. The beginning of this paper discusses the history and evolution of SIS. The next part of this paper focuses on different fields and research areas such as networking technology, information fusion, information decision, message display, ship control in real-time SISs. A Semi-Physical Simulation Platform (SPSIM) designed for SIS research and its running effect through a new Fuzzy-PID fusion algorithm are introduced in this paper then. A brief literature survey and possible future direction concerning each topic is included

Abstract

TiO2 nanotube arrays were fabricated using electrochemical anodization of titanium foils, where different types of electrolytes were tested to determine conceptual choice for nanotubes fabrication. These electrolytes are 1M (NH4)2SO4 containing 0.5% wt NH4F, 1M Na2SO4 containing 0.5% wt NH4F, 1M NaF containing 0.5% wt (NH4)2SO4 and a mixture of water: ethylene glycol 1:9 containing 0.5% wt NH4F. The foils were marked as EG type (Ethylene Glycol), AS type (Ammonium sulfate), SS type (sodium sulfate) and SF type (sodium fluoride). The photocatalytic capabilities and characterization of the fabricated NTAs were analyzed using SEM, XRD, and DRS. The degradation ratio of designated organic pollutants (Rhodamine B) was analyzed. The obtained results have proven that foils fabricated using Ethylene glycol have significant photocatalytic abilities, with a degradation ratio of EG-SS-SF-AS types being 80% to 85%, 70% to 80%, 70% to 75% and 52% to 55%, respectively.

Abstract

N-type polycrystalline skutterudite compounds Ni0.15Co3.85Sb12 and Fe0.2Ni0.15Co3.65Sb12 with the bcc crystal structure were synthesized by high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) method. The synthesis time was sharply reduced to approximately half an hour. Typical microstructures connected with lattice deformations and dislocations were incorporated in the samples of Ni0.15Co3.85Sb12 and Fe0.2Ni0.15Co3.65Sb12 after HPHT. Electrical and thermal transport properties were meticulously researched in the temperature range of 300 K to 700 K. The Fe0.2Ni0.15Co3.65Sb12 sample shows a lower thermal conductivity than that of Ni0.15Co3.85Sb12. The dimensionless thermoelectric figure-of-merit (zT) reaches the maximal values of 0.52 and 0.35 at 600 K and 700 K respectively, for Ni0.15Co3.85Sb12 and Fe0.2Ni0.15Co3.65Sb12 samples synthesized at 1 GPa.
