The promotion of agritourism services is a very important factor of agritourism development. Owners of agritourism farms apply different promotional instruments.
The main objective of the authors’ research is to identify the management methods of promotional activity in agritourism by local authorities in municipalities of the Myslenice County. The region belongs to one of the most touristic attractive parts of Malopolska Province in Poland.
In order to achieve this ambitious objective, during the summer 2015 the surveys in all nine municipalities belonging to the Myslenice County: Dobczyce, Lubień, Myślenice, Pcim, Raciechowice, Siepraw, Sułkowice, Tokarnia oraz Wiśniowa were conducted. The researches related to the support of local governments in the development of agritourism services with regard to the promotion of agritourism.
In the theoretical part of the paper the essence and forms of promotion used in agritourism services and other different types of its support by local authorities were presented based on the literature.
Oral mucositis is a common side effect of radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Severe mucositis is followed by symptoms, such as extreme pain, mucosal ulceration and consequent limitations in swallowing and achieving adequate nutritional intake. Mucositis may also increase the risk of local and systemic infection and significantly affect quality of life and cost of care. Severe oral mucositis can lead to the need to interrupt or discontinue cancer therapy and thus may have an impact on cure of the primary disease. In spite of all the advances made in understanding the pathophysiology of oral mucositis, there is still no prophylactic therapy with proven efficacy and known risk factors. This review will discuss oral mucositis epidemiology, impact and side effects, pathogenesis, scoring scales and prevention.
Sperm surface binding sites for non-zinc-binding proteins (nZnBPs) and zinc-binding proteins (ZnBPs) were studied by the fluorescence technique with biotin-labelled proteins. The nZnBPs binding pattern was unspecific, no characteristic sites on plasmalemma were found. ZnBPs were attached mainly to the acrosomal region of sperm head and to the sperm flagellum. ZnBPs added to the incubation mixture of the canine spermatozoa allowed the preservation of higher values for total motility, progressive motility, curvilinear line velocity, straight line velocity, and beat cross frequency (P < 0.05), both at time 0 and after 1 h incubation at 5ºC. The addition of nZnBPs to the incubation mixture caused only weak positive effects when compared with control sample (PBS). A higher percentage of canine-ejaculated spermatozoa with intact membranes were observed when ejaculate was incubated with ZnBPs in comparison to control sample stored with PBS (P < 0.05) or nZnBPs (P < 0.05). Spermatozoa diluted with ZnBPs and nZnBPs exhibited a higher percentage of cells with active mitochondria when compared with control, both at time 0 and after 1 h; however, no statistical differences were observed. Our results emphasise the role of seminal plasma protein in securing the correct quantity and availability of zinc ions as a component regulating the motility of canine spermatozoa. The protective effect of ZnBPs against the cooling effect may be due to their ability of preventing sperm membrane damage.
The aim of the study was to demonstrate the orthodontic treatment of malocclusions in dogs, a condition which can lead to cranio-mandibular and functional disorders of the stomatognathic system. The treatment involved the use of maxillofacialorthopaedic appliances, which type depended on the type of disorder and the degree of malocclusion. The applied treatment induced changes in the alveolar bone. Throughout the process of the treatment a great attention was paid to regular brushing off the orthodontic appliance using antiseptics for prophylactic prevention of inflammation of gingival tissue and the palate caused by food getting stuck in the spaces between the teeth.
