Abstract

In the paper a description of heat transfer in one-dimensional crystalline solids is presented. The lattice Boltzmann method based on Boltzmann transport equation is used to simulate the nanoscale heat transport in thin metal films. The coupled lattice Boltzmann equations for electrons and phonons are applied to analyze the heating process of thin metal films via laser pulse. Such approach in which the parameters appearing in the problem analyzed are treated as constant values is widely used, but in the paper the interval values of relaxation times and electron-phonon coupling factor are taken into account. The problem formulated has been solved by means of the interval lattice Boltzmann method using the rules of directed interval arithmetic. In the final part of the paper the results of numerical computations are shown.

The object of this study was to develop parameter of the die forging process, such as feedstock temperature and to investigate her impact on the structure and mechanical properties of magnesium alloys in different heat treatment conditions. Tests were carried out on a 2,5MN maximum capacity vertical hydraulic press using forgings of sample (model) shapes. Then, based on the results obtained in previous work, research was carried out to develop for items forged from magnesium alloys the parameters of heat treatment to the T5 and T6 condition in the context of achieving possibly homogeneous and fine-grained structure and, consequently, high mechanical properties.

Abstract

The object of this study was to develop parameters of plastic deformation process of magnesium alloy - ZK60A. The tests have showed that for this alloy it is possible to use the temperature of the plastic deformation process ranging from 350°C to 450°C. Samples were characterized by mechanical properties and structure in different heat treatment tempers. This magnesium alloy obtained in the T5 temper higher mechanical properties then T6 temper. The paper also presents research results of investigation of conversion coating on ZK60A magnesium alloy by anodic oxidation method in non-chromium solutions. It was found that the coating produced in non-chromium solutions show considerable increase of corrosion resistance of tested alloy.

Abstract

The order Passeriformes is the most successful group of birds on Earth, however, its representatives are rare visitors beyond the Polar Front zone. Here we report a photo-documented record of an Austral Negrito (Lessonia rufa), first known occurrence of this species in the South Shetland Islands and only the second such an observation in the Antarctic region. This record was made at Lions Rump, King George Island, part of the Antarctic Specially Protected Area No. 151 (ASPA 151). There is no direct evidence of how the individual arrived at Lions Rump, but ship assistance cannot be excluded.
