Over the past several decades, airlines have formed and participated in international alliances to seek competitive advantages. However, it is still unclear whether airlines obtain substantial competitive advantages through an international alliance and how to measure the competitive advantages of alliances and airlines. This study presents a critical literature review as a contribution to comprehensive and novel empirical researches in the future.
This study aims to analyse consumer preference on the attributes of rice and describe the comparison of performance of packaged rice and bulk rice in the eyes of urban consumer. The method of this study uses survey on 100 respondents chosen purposively. The primary data that is obtained is analysed quantitatively using the attitude multi-attribute model from Fishbein. Based on the analysis result, it is known that expiration clarity is a positive attribute in both packaged rice and bulk rice, followed by the ease of obtaining in the bulk rice, and the contents in the packaged rice. The attributes with positive value indicates the key factor that determine consumer’s assessment in choosing certain rice brand. From the semantic differential comparison, it is found that branded packaged rice is generally better in attributes compared to bulk rice. According to the results, the efforts to increase rice agro-industrial in local farmer level are recommended, so that they can enjoy the benefits of the multi-attributes attached in the branded packaged rice that they produced.
Porous concrete is a simple form of lightweight concrete made by eliminating the use of fine aggregates (sand). That is a mixture of cement, water and coarse aggregate. Use of the guiding paving block porous for blind people is one of the efforts that will be made to overcome the inundation due to water spills from sufficiently high rainfall, providing comfort and safety for users so as not to slip easily due to slippery road surfaces, that will be used must have a measurable value of permeability and porosity to optimize the function of using porous concrete. Guiding paving block porous for blind people are very economical and have a great advantage in absorbing water so the surface is always dry, and can reduce accidents due to slippery roads. Another advantage is that the product is environmentally friendly with handmade, designed using a mixture of plastic bottle waste material can be made apart from the manufacturing process in various shapes and various colors. From the test results it has a strength of 10-15 mpa in the precast age of 28 days with a water absorption capability of up to 10L / m2.
Population Ageing will increase the proportion of the elderly in the population and affect the Labor supply, which will eventually have an effect on the economy. This paper first analyzes the impact of aging on labor supply and economic growth from the theoretical level. Population ageing argues will reduce the supply of labor and hamper economic growth. Then, based on the panel data of 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, this paper uses panel auto-regression Model. An empirical analysis of the interaction between population ageing and labor force is carried out by means of Impulse Response Diagram and variance decomposition. The study adds to evidence that ageing reduces the supply of labor and hence economic growth.
This research attempts to describe and analyse the implementation process of Village Fund in two villages in Pati Regency, Central Java. This qualitative research was conducted in Tambakromo Village and Mojomulyo Village. Despite various studies on good corporate governance (GCG), many GCG mechanisms do not seem to work effectively in Indonesian companies due to frequent conflicts between majority and minority shareholders. A more independent party needs to be offered to solve this unique agency problem. This study attempts to analyze how independent parties; foreign and domestic institutional ownership, and independent commissioners may provide solution to agency problem. Results of panel data regression show a positive and significant influence of foreign institutional ownership on dividends and stock prices, whereas domestic institutional ownership and independent commissioners do not significantly affect shareholder wealth. The study also proposes a new model to minimize the possibility of agency problems in Indonesian context through the establishment of foreign institutional ownership as an independent party.
This research aims to: (1) understand the factors which become the drivers and inhibitors of the implementation of integrated management model of coffee and cocoa plantation, and (2) determine the strategy of integrated management model of coffee and cocoa plantation. The research location is determined using purposive method. The location of the research object is located in Jember Regency, Lumajang, and Malang. The research design is using descriptive and analytical survey method, while the sampling is done using Snowball Sampling method. The data analysis of this research is using: (1) Descriptive Analysis; (2) Revenue Analysis; and (3) Force implementation Analysis (FFA). The research result shows that: (a) The driving factors of the implementation of integrated management model of coffee and cocoa plantation are the variety of agricultural crops (plantation products, agricultural products, and livestock), while the inhibiting factors are weak networks among government institutions and stakeholders; and (b) The strategy of the implementation of management model are: (i) the role and participation of the community as managers; (ii) contribution from government and stakeholders; (iii) specific integrated plantation management; (iv) provision of facilities; (v) clarity of the implication of the model on local communities, tourists, and government. The implementation of the principles model can be operationalized, after it is agreed upon by stakeholders and if the models are ‘community-based’.
