Safety of CMS Experiment Systems Operation – Integration of a New CO2 Fire Extinguishing Weighing System to the CMS Safety Panel

Abstract

The subject of the article is the integration of a new CO2 fire extinguishing weighing system to the panel displaying the status of Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector safety systems (CMS Safety Panel) at CERN. The CO2 fire extinguishing system is responsible for protection of unique control devices, so safety of its operation and the weighing system was designed to monitor the state of it and make it reliable. CMS Safety Panel displays status of safety systems used in CMS Experiment and it is based on JCOP Framework that guarantee compatibility of all the projects. The integration of the new CO2 fire extinguishing system to the CMS Safety Panel requires that the system meets the assumptions that other projects fulfil and allows for clear monitoring of its situation along with the rest of the security systems.

Safety of Formworks in the Engineering and General Construction Sector

Abstract

Formwork systems are necessarily used in the implementation of the RC (reinforced concrete) structures. Formworks are required regardless of whether a construction is monolithic or prefabricated and used to form the engineering and general structures or structural elements, such as abutments, supports and decks of the bridges, tanks and retaining walls, but also industrial and accommodation facilities etc. Ensuring the OHS (occupational health and safety) during transport, assembly and disassembly of formworks is a necessary condition for the execution of RC works in a safe and economical way. The paper presents the analysis of the safety requirements for formworks. Furthermore, the general requirements for the execution of the formwork structures were discussed. The most common organizational and technological mistakes and cased of neglects related to the operation of the formwork which lead to infringement of the OHS regulations were also identified.

Safety of Photovoltaic Installations and Analysis of the Costs of Using Photovoltaic Panels Producing Energy for the Needs of Customers in Central Poland

Abstract

The article discusses the general problem of the use of renewable energy in Poland. The boundary conditions justifying the economic basis for the construction of photovoltaic power plants producing energy for the own needs of customers were determined. The research method uses a standard model of cash flows where revenues are avoided costs of purchase and distribution of energy due to the production of electricity from PV for own needs. The article also presents technical aspects related to the construction of photovoltaic micro-installations. Particular attention has been paid to the protection of photovoltaic installations, the hazards resulting from the operation of photovoltaic installations, and health and safety at work during design and implementation.

Safety of Road Roller Technical Operation Through Diagnosis

Abstract

Safety of road roller technical operation for safety diagnosis will be analysed. The analysis is based on the assumptions and hypotheses confirmed by fundamental-applied and experimental-theoretical works. Such modelling enables formulating commonly known diagnostic equivalent for building a real diagnose method of contacting problems of moving roller contacted with the road material.

Safety of Sports Mass Events in the Context of Creating a Marketing Product

Abstract

Safety as a state that gives a sense of confidence and a guarantee of its maintaining may also act as an element motivating to use a product or service, certainty of use of the product and the certainty of using the service. In the second approach, mass-specific services, including sports services related to the operation of sports clubs, are a service specific in terms of security. The entity providing them should ensure the safety of all its participants, from sportsmen to sports spectators. The aim of the article is to present partial results of research results on the relationship between the sense of safety of sports club fans and active participation in a sports event. The research covered a group of 1127 people surveyed in the first half of 2018 using a direct questionnaire on fans of sports teams and research on secondary sources.

The main hypothesis is that a sporting event allows to extend a marketing offer to new segments, enrich the expanded sports product, set new pricing strategies and use promotion only when a viewer has a high sense of security. In this approach, it is security from the point of view of the customer that determines the use of a sports service, but also satisfaction, and, in the future, also loyalty.

Safety of Use of the Buildings in the Aspect of the Indoor Environmental Quality

Abstract

Safety of use of the buildings refers i.a. to ensuring appropriate hygienic and sanitary conditions and also health conditions. According to the EU Directive on the energy performance of buildings, there is a need to define the conditions for the classification of objects in terms of indoor microclimate requirements. Evaluating the quality of the interior environment in buildings and specifying the requirements of people staying in them, first of all the values of thermal microclimate parameters and air quality should be taken into account. Long-term influence of disadvantageous of environmental conditions may cause or exacerbate many symptoms associated with abnormal functioning of the organism and lead to the weakness or illness. This phenomenon is called sick building syndrome, and the symptoms of the syndrome such as eyes and respiratory tract irritation, malaise, dizziness and headache or fatigue are linked to time spent in the building. The article presents the results of research on the condition of the interior environment in educational buildings, identifies factors affecting the formation of environmental conditions in the rooms and shows the influence of the interiors environment in buildings on the human body. The relationships between the basic parameters of the interior microclimate and the state of feeling satisfaction with the environmental conditions that surrounds the human are tracked. It was found that in many cases commonly used gravitational ventilation is not able to ensure the proper conditions of the interior microclimate, and the concentrations of carbon dioxide recorded in the tested rooms exceeded the applicable standards.

The Scope of Protection and Financing of Social Risk in Poland on the Example of the Social Security Administration

Abstract

Social risks are an unusual type of risks occurring in insurance. Their specific feature is the implementation of risk in the sphere of social life of a person with special regard to the work environment. Social risks are an element of research in economics and law and in social policy. The author of the paper shows that the structure of the Polish social insurance system is not optimal and requires radical reform. This paper contains, among others, characteristics of the scope of protection of social risks identified in Poland by Social Security Administration and the basis for financing benefits from this system. The summary of the paper presents opinions on improving the financial efficiency of this system.

The Security of Information Channels in Banking Services

Abstract

This study focuses on the aspects related to the information technology security, and in particular, the quality of information security. It is inter alia because of international technology security that banks incur expenses to adapt their IT systems to guidelines of the supervisory authorities and to the expectations of international financial markets and stakeholders.

The constantly growing demands of stakeholders increasingly force the provision of services to be on the highest standard and delivered by means of new technologies. Therefore, banks adjusting their products and services to the requirements of stakeholders have to implement modern methods to secure information channels, thus guaranteeing information security to the stakeholders of a bank.

The aim of this paper is to present crucial security aspects in electronic banking, which indirectly affect the quality and security of the offered banking service and whether clients are aware of the most commonly occurring threat - an attack on a computer (phising). The source of data for this research was a group of 90 active users of information technologies, the analysis of certificates and securities used at the time of contact between the customer and the bank through an internet platform and a report of PRNews.pl on the state of banking in Poland for the fourth quarter of 2016.

The Security of the Health Organization Management - The Role of Doctors, Patients and Relations Between Them

Abstract

The management of contemporary health systems is a problem of many countries, which consists not only of issues related to the establishment of the roles of institutions involved in their functioning, the allocation of funds, asymmetry of information, or access to health services. Problems of the all system often result from faulty management of particular health institutions, and more specifically from the lack of agreement between the management staff, medical staff and patients.

The proposed study is an attempt to systematize the roles assigned recently to physicians and patients on the one hand, on the other – a presentation of non-standard solutions in this area, which are the existing cooperatives in health care in the world. The issue of jointly implemented by both groups of objectives and adaptation of the idea of cooperatives to the management process was justified by the theory of common pool resources and the game theory.
