This summary details the steps that were necessary to fasten a Nokia Puma 560’s gripper to a KUKA KR5 industrial robot found at University of Debrecen, Department of Mechatronics and also demonstrates its applications in the robot cell designed around its usage. It also includes the inspection and reconstruction of said gripper, and the 3D designing of its adapter. The adapter is intended for the KUKA KR5 robot, which is later manufactured using PRO-PLA 3D printing. The KUKA KR5 will also have a robot cell designed and built around it, for educational purposes.
In today’s increased pace of life there are some things with incomparable meanings that we are getting too used to. Because of this, architects today play a very big role in the defense of the legacy of our architecture. It is our duty and responsibility to keep defending this legacy, but not stop at just the level of simple preservation. The city of Pécs is filled with architectural remains from different time periods, but most of all buildings from the era of Ottoman Hungary. This architectural heritage was left from one of the bloodiest time periods from the history of our country, and it has become a symbol for the city. In the shadow of the Ottoman Empire, Pécs became an important trading and cultural center, being a bridge between east and west, north and south. While some of the buildings left from this era were brought to public awareness, a lot of them were forgotten, and only a few people know about the architectural treasures the city holds.
In this paper I would like to highlight some of the forgotten Ottoman heritage, focusing on the religious buildings. As a conclusion to this paper, I would like to present an architectural plan to bring attention to these buildings.
From the mid-2000s on, new types of security challenges have emerged at a global level. Their prevention, management and recovery, given their characteristics, is a serious challenge for the countries. Cybersecurity challenges require special attention and close interaction both at national and international level. In this paper the author presents the highlights of OSCE and V4 cooperation on cyber defence.
Due to the current increase in energy demand, renewable energy sources and their utilization have become a priority. Thanks to the Smart Grid, which is currently under development, and with the help of the evolving technologies, we are trying to extract more and more energy from sources that we couldn’t exploit before or which weren’t economically viable. In this article, we examine the airflow field for a theoretical warehouse building, dependent on roof inclination angle. The purpose of the analysis was to select the optimal angle under which a roof mounted horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) could perform efficiently.
Earthquake zones cover a significant part of our earth, therefore, when planning and designing residential areas, factories, or other human establishments, professionals have to take into account the seismic hazard of that area. The current earthquake standard in Romania is based on the European code. This paper presents, beside the most significant structural composition rules, the applicable methods that can be used to ensure sufficient load bearing requirements.
In the decades elapsed since the construction of the majority of educational buildings in Hungary, there have been various social, economic, and demographic developments that affect the utility of existing infrastructure. These changes present special requirements – those not met by existing, often heritage buildings – setting a challenge to both architects and decision makers. The aim of this study is to analyse the various aspects of these developments and reflect on the extant architectural framework of education, serving as a basis for further investigations on ways architecture can enhance the learning environment.
Human consciousness is our most perplexing quality, still, an adequate description of it’s workings have not yet appeared. One of the most promising ways to solve this issue is to model consciousness with artificial intelligence (AI). This paper makes an attempt to do that on a theoretical level with the methods of philosophy. First I will review the relevant papers concerning human consciousness. Then considering the state of the art of AI, I will arrive at a model of artificial consciousness.
The components of electric connections have a tenancy to corrosion. We can observe a galvanic corrosion process hazard in case of the contact between different electron potential metals. This corrosion process impairs the mechanical properties and the connection through increased resistance. The conduction parameters decrease in some parts that are under high load because of the rise in heat. This heat effect can be undetectable. By thermographic camera experiments, we can reveal this irregularity at an early stage. In this work, we present this investigation and the associated problems.
Sadly, many great Hungarian engineers have been forgotten, engineers who could be outstanding role models for the young engineers of today. In some aspects Tódor Kármán belongs to these forgotten engineers. For that reason, we examine his life and work in our research. I distinctly refer to the educational system of the era, since his scientific work also originated from this. This essay also explores the most important work and inventions of the great scientist with regard to his space research activities that were way ahead of his time. In this context, I also mention Dr. Antal Bejczy, one of his followers in space research.
Nowadays one of the main lines of development in aerial craft is the design and construction of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s). Within this wide topic, development of ultralight (UL) aircrafts is especially popular because of their versatility and relative low cost. My task was to design the shape of an airplane wing-fuselage junction, which will be classified as an ultralight and unmanned aerial vehicle. The most optimal wing-fuselage junction is made with the Ansys simulating program, including model calculations. Based on the calculations and results, solutions can be recommended. With CAD geometry models, first stage of testing of the aircraft with 3D printed models, is prepared.
